Re: Recent Movies Seen.

Recently seen Machete (had to write up a review for a dutch online mag I write for). I thought it was awesome, going in with no expectations. It was hilarious and it was creative.

Re: Satoshi Kon dies

Damnit. I always find out about cool stuff far too late. Well, I've seen Paprika when it came out, but that was at a time when I didn't realise directors were very important, nor did I even realise fully that anime had to be directed too. So I never went and searched aroud for more of this brilliant...

Re: Stuck in traffic? You've got nothing on these guys

Thats ridiculous! And, they did it to themselves: The road works which were obstructing traffic are necessary to repair damage caused by an increase in cargo lorries using the highway, the state-run newspaper said. There are lots of lorries so lots of lorries on the road which makes the roads bad fo...

Re: Foreign Languages in Movies

I cannot understand why someone would not go see a movie because of that. Well, maybe because they aren't used to reading subtitles ánd watching a movie, which probably is a skill. We learned that skill as children, I think, because so much more is subtitled where we grow up. I would like to hear fr...

Re: Foreign Languages in Movies

I don't think Toy Story would be a better movie that way, but I did like the fact Inglourious Basterds did use different languages for people of different nationality. But then again, I am also very used to reading subtitles because I'm dutch. Even more, when I was growing up not only most of the mo...

Re: Inception (now with spoilers, marked on page 2)

Also, I think I've found a hole in the ending is a dream theory, or at least some versions of it which site the entire thing as a trick orchestrated by Saito: If Cobb didn't get out of Limbo, Saito would be stuck and brain boiled, too. You have a point there. Also, and this may be a dumb qu...

Re: How hot is it where you are?

It's 20 degrees Centigrade out here. At the and of June and the beginning of July we had around 30, which wasn't that comfortable. But this is nice, maybe a little less wind would make it better, but I really don't like to complain about the weather.

I think it's funny. He will eventually know if it's a dream if he ever goes back in the kitchen. Either the top will be down or still spinning. HA! Well uhh, hasn't the top become useless after Saito touched it in Limbo? On another note, it does matter, context wise, if the ending is a ...

Re: Inception (now with spoilers, marked on page 2)

Wow, that boingboing post is awesome! Very cool! I agree that the whole movie doesn't have to be a dream to work, as i posted earlier. Bút, I also think the ending had to be this way for the movies message to fully come across: it doesn't matter if it's a dream or not, the catharsis is r...
