metcarfre wrote:Honest question; what does the term "GOG" mean in relation to games?

Good Old Games - a game service selling games of yesteryear on the cheap, updated to be Windows XP/Vista/7 compatible.

Re: Shoppers' Paralysis (help me choose a computer)

*snipping in all ways horrible advice* Okay, honestly, that there was a HORRIBLE post. i7 / a powerful graphics card IN A LAPTOP? That would make the thing impossible to use on your lap. A *horribly overpriced* *Sony* laptop that doesn't even have OSX? ATI (well, AMD's graphics card branch now) jus...

Re: Shoppers' Paralysis (help me choose a computer)

Okay. If you want gaming and video editing with even some sort of limited budget, you decidedly want a desktop. My choice would be a cheap AMD+Nvidia desktop and a netbook to go with it, for the best of the both worlds on the cheap. If you're willing to scrap video editing and non-GOG gaming, I'd de...

Re: Every OS Sucks

This was great, although I actually thought the live version of the song on Desert Bus sounded better overall.. Oh, and also; if a girl is skipping about, blowing kisses and randomly assaulting me that's gonna make me run miles, not follow her. :? Missy still looked good doing it, tho. ;) I'd proba...

Re: Every OS Sucks

Yeah, I've had the discussion with a few of my classmates regarding Linux as a human-useable operating system. My end opinion is that it is not intended to be used by humans. It has no user interface to really speak of and is very compact, which is clearly indicative of an operating system intended...

Re: Every OS Sucks

That is indeed a fair representation of Linux. It's not that Linux is hard to use, once you know how to do what you want to do, and as long as you're willing to forego 3d and sound. Because Linux graphics drivers and sound are deep wizardry. So basically - use Linux as a server, and it's a reliable ...

Re: Snow Europe has a lot of it

It got to -20 celsius steadily here.

Dear god was that freezing. I traveled to the grandparents because their house is warmer.

... and it'll get to -30C sooner or later. Heck, at this speed, -40C.

Re: keep the desert bus live chat going

Just cause you got banned for using racial slurs repeatedly and being a mouthy dick to the IRCops, is no way a reflection of the IRC network, rather it's a reflection of you. I didn't get banned for the first one at all; nor for the second one on the channel. Rather, I got myself and my ISP's silen...

People were "served" with soda water.

Alex especially had several cases of getting soda water offered to him. To the point that he eventually countered with a soda water vest.

Strongly disagreed. I'll not visit a channel on ARG-IRC.

WTB a better IRC network.

Re: The Official Desert Bus IV thread!!!

What did I do while watching? I redrew some of the about page pictures. In miniature size. The goal was extremely low-res images of the crew that could handle being blown up to larger size. First part went ok, the second part was so-so - but they're still fairly accurate for a possible craftalong pr...

Re: Green Job

Well, the video explained a few of the problems in the video.

Jer should have been sitting on greenscreen too - he looks smudged in the levitation picture. And the rotation of the levitating objects looks unbalanced - this I'd blame on the software.

I'm more thinking mixing up Squall's attitude with five-hour-long cutscenes, Mr. Gets Pwnt In TF2.

Squall Snake

The topic really says enough - I don't have a concrete idea anyhow.

It's just an idea too amusing to merely forget.
