Re: Torchwood

I'm just fed up that it looks like because RT is gay, he has some compultion to unsubtley smother us with gayness in Torchwood. In Dr Who is was... bareable because it was mostly inuendos or implied (however Cptn Jack was awfully straight to the point, that whore). It just makes his writing feels li...

Re: The Official Kathleen and Graham will be in England Thread

...but if people are wanting to do stuff in typical 'British' attire (top hats and the like), I can wear a short and a waistcoat. Bit nitpicking, but isn't that English attire? I would be surprised to see a Scot in a tophat :P Perhaps the people from the Celtic nations can wear their unique stereot...

Re: The Official Kathleen and Graham will be in England Thread

London's quite, um, in the far corner for an England visit. Any chance coming to leister? I think that's more centric. If I'm wrong Birmingham is a safe bet. Though why would you want to go there is beyond me. Inless you admire motor-arcitecture (cough spagetti junction).

Re: Torchwood

Jack having sex with that randomer made me lol. Oh that Russel T Davis, such a bad boy. On a serious note, his lover dies in the Children of Earth and promises to never forget him and he now enjoys casual sex. Either as stated, been thousands of years or Jack is a whore. I vote the latter as I don't...

Re: Video Games you hate... but still play... fairly frequently.

I tried Oblivion again, this time as an archer-assassin... yeah... As fun as it is 1 shotting most animals and several shotting human enemies, I have enountered some crushing things. I joined the Dark Brotherhood. The quests were fun, and the murder-house quest was very fun, but... then there was th...

Re: Video Games you hate... but still play... fairly frequently.

I'm starting to get this syndrome with Oblivion, but it's partly my fault. I'm almost level 20ish and done none of the main story-line and just pissed about really, doing the mage guild quest chain and cureing vampirism. I also downloaded some mods for some cool armour and a weapon (a scythe!), but ...

Re: Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned

You never hear of a man doing that to a woman's vagina.... It's sexist in a twisted way. Also, it's very serious doing that. The groinal area is one of the worst places to get spliced due to blood-loss. If you think of it logically, since an erection is achieved by high level of blood in the penis, ...

Video Games you hate... but still play... fairly frequently.

I have a video game I seethingly dislike, but can't help but still play. It's Heroes of Newerth. It's a team-based player-verses-player hyphan-verses-proper-use-of-punctuation RTSy RPG game. Unfortunatly it has a problem with its mechanics where if something goes wrong, the game can shift significan...

Re: Torchwood

I really enjoyed the concept/setting for the season. It gives some interesting questions. Little bit confused how Cptn Jack returned after being heartbroken at killing his grandson and hooking up with a Titanic clone pilot in a random bar in the future. /care continuity. It felt a little bit it was ...

Re: Terry Pratchett Starts Process To End His Life

I tried watching the documentry but I found it quite, uncomfortable to watch more than 5 mins. I guess I like living in a shelttered bubble. And selfishly didn't want the harsh truth that Terry Pratchett's Discworld has to stop growing someday. It was also a subjected I thankfully don't have to thin...

Re: But is it Art?

If we're on the subject of discussing art;

I find most photography not art. It's only art if it captures an emotion/feeling/sense.
Otherwise it's just a pwetty picture or the actual object is the focal point, not the um, intent of the photograph.

Art, in my opinnion needs intent.

Did anyone used to put couch cushions on the stair case in their house and try to slide down it? (Preferabley the staircase INSIDE your house. Not the staircase outside because you live in a block of flats). (And when your parents weren't around because otherwise they'd have flipped out at the healt...

Re: "When I Was A Kid"

I actually find lego sets are alot more stingy of cost:volume of stuffs.
I think I blame my lack of patience of playing solo with lego sets. I just look at them now, meh. Or maybe, I feel arogant enough that I could make better structures with any other materials.

Re: "When I Was A Kid"

When I want a 'meal' from the supermarket (some sandwiches, drink, maybe some savouriness and sweets) I spend £10 for *one meal*. That's how much I would spend on a nice pub main. It's, scary. Maybe it's because I live in a capital city during uni term... Money grabbing capitalists... :<

Re: "When I Was A Kid"

When I was a kid chocolate bars and sweets were cheaper. 33p was the 'normal' price for a chocolate bar. Now it's closer to 60p. I mean, how the *word* has it doubled in about two decades? Bottled carbonated fake drinks however have stayed around £1ish. Safe to say, next time I want sweets/chocolate...

Re: But is it Art?

A concept artist exhibited a piece of blu-tack pushed up against a wall as art. This does not surprise me. It still insults me. I strongly dislike artwork that more effort is put into justifying its existiance/backstory than the actual piece of work itself. Sure, it probably makes an interesting com...

The ending really made me excited. One of the best character developement/mythos building episodes in my opinnion. As an adventure episode it wasn't that exciting as it seemed to be a weird build-up not quite whole episode loose-end typing/teasing faffing about episode so it left you feeling some-wh...
