Re: Venting Thread Delta - Now With Easy to Follow Rules

Dammit empath, now this is annoying me too. :D There's something wooden and/or wheeled in there; I'm certain of that much. Edit: Listening to it a little more, I think it something on a tray being thrown in a furnace. I can hear fire and a heavy impact at the end, like an industrial cooler door. Pre...

Re: Venting Thread Delta - Now With Easy to Follow Rules

Went to the doctor today, following up from some scans I had done last week. Still have no idea what is causing the pain in my head. I don't even know what to pursue next, beyond looking at the swollen lymph node on that side directly.

Yup. That sounds about right. :)

On another thread-related note, I am on my way to Melbourne again to see my girlfriend. :D

Re: Venting Thread Delta - Now With Easy to Follow Rules

I fucking knew it. Boss just called, asking where I was. I'm off tonight. "Did you write it on the calendar?" "Uh, no, I didn't. I forgot." "People don't write things on the calendar, I forget." First, how bad is your memory? I told you *and* sent you a message last wee...

Re: Venting Thread Delta - Now With Easy to Follow Rules

I know the feeling. I had the same thing happen to my old car. Turn they key, nothing.

It could be what happened to that car; the brushes in the starter motor got stuck/wore down. The NRMA Roadside Assist guy jabbed it with a metal pole a few times, then got me to try it.

Sounds interesting. Personally, I would, in the first instance, scale it back to a row rather than a full card.

This "being productive" thing feels weird. :D

Again, proportion issues, but I'll fix them tomorrow. A blessing of working digitally. :)

Re: Venting Thread Delta - Now With Easy to Follow Rules

Related to an earlier vent: now the Rural Fire Service has said they're treating the fire as suspicious, meaning it's likely arson or an escaped campfire. Great. -_-

Looks good. :D

And yeah, there are a few things wrong with Roberts (on the left). He is supposed to be the shorter of the three, but he's too small in general compared to the other two.

It's only August, and already we have bushfires. Great. It's not a threat to me, but reports are saying it could threaten homes.

Somehow I knew you'd be the first to respond to that. :P I'm not even a year into the search and already I'm sick of it. More the whole process than the applications themselves; I need to apply for a certain number each month to satisfy Centrelink (Department of Human Services), and I have to attend...

Also this guy. (Not sure how many Sunday morning ABC listeners there are on the forum, though. :P)

On a more vent-related not, is there a magic number of job applications I need to hit before I snag something? I think I'm easily past the 100 mark. :/

Re: Venting Thread Delta - Now With Easy to Follow Rules

Speaking of extremes, I think my father is the only person I know who has been prevented from going to work by bushfires and snow and/or ice on the same stretch of road (each at different times of the year).

He really doesn't. XD

I just hope he's coping with the expectations everyone has the series and the negative opinions a lot of people have about it.
