Flashes

Actually there are flashes around that _can_ blind you. Those are often used for special photography. Like if you want to photograph through glass or certain types of clothing.

Probably one of the worst TV-stations on this world.

It's so bad, that it already starts to become good. They want to do esoterics, but it ended up as a satire of it.

It's a monument of how bad television can get.

Kanal Telemedial

Kanal Telemedial was a german commercial TV station. Their business model was that you could purchase an "Energieausgleich" (energy balancing) for only 30 euros. Because of that they lost their license in germany. Therefore they got a license in austria which also got revoked last year as ...

Ohh, that must have been a VHS VTR. Video 2000 is much easer. There it would be, for example [1] [4] [2] [3] [Uhr] to set the clock to 14:23.

Re: VCR failure

Well I guess the problem with the VCR migth be a dried out capacitor. It should be cheap to repair. It was actually some sort of loose connection on the inside of the RCA video jack. We didn't have time to fix it, so we just switched VCRs mid-stream and crashed the bus doing so. Ahh, OK, that can h...

Nah, thanks for trying to explain, guys. I'm not sure LRR have any use for live editing, though live special effects on 'Driver cam' would be interesting. And completely pointless. Well you could merge both cams into one. You could for example superimpose stats or show exciting scenes from the past...

Its becoming abundantly clear I no nothing about 'video' editing. Interesting, though. Well actually video editing is a whole different game. What's interresting is a video mixer or video switch. It's a quite intimidating device which is fairly simple to use: http://www.rossvideo.com/vision_qmdx/qm...

Well, since this thread is necro'd anyway, you guys have lost me in the difference between 'film' and 'video', or how LRR is not video? Well essentially video in the technical sense has things like sync-signals. It transmitts every frame by itself. Video is also realtime by default. So you have you...

before anyone does any additional calculations - what I'd really like to know, is how much impact force would typically be enough to kill a person. -m That question cannot be answered by itself. You can easily sustain thousands of newtons in one situation, while a single newton might kill you insta...

140 Joules, if that's correct, would be 140 watt seconds. A typical flatscreen television set (monochrome) takes about 1 watt of power, so you could power one for 140 seconds. That's without backlight, of course. A large CRT television set, (like the one in I SAW What You Did There) takes about 10 w...

We could still fake it such that there's no dicernable difference. Also, (respecting your profession) I do know what you mean by "video", but we still do video. It sure ain't film, so it's video. Well you do video in the cultural sense, as a relatively quick way to deal with moving images...

they would need a video line betwenn to places, and cameras they can move synchroniously in both places, as well as a video mixer.

LRR is, unfortunately, not equipped for video, only for computer files with moving images and sound.

Next thing you know we'll have androids as anchormen. Oh wait.. Shepard Smith. Never mind, Fox News is still one up on CNN in that department.

LoadingReadyRun spends more money on journalism than CNN does on journalism. Seriously, I think the news reporting on the BBC is stupid sometimes, let alone the American networks. Hmm, then you might be interrested in Al Jazeera English. It's kinda like reading political blogs, just with journalists.

Does CNN still care about it's reputation?

I mean with a scene like that, one really wonders if they still care about their reputation. I mean there used to be a time when people were proposing special photo editing software for jounalists which does not allow to edit the content, but only allow technical corrections. Now we have CNN here, o...

First of all, at a certain field-strength, everything becomes magnetic.

Second, they obviously watch the particles going away from it.
