Re: Female Characters
Very good post snipped for space that everybody should read. If I might add to this, back around 2001 video game coverage basically consisted of strategy guides, reviews, previews, and as far as I recall, two outliers. One was my Garwulf's Corner column (2000-2002), which was a computer games issue...

Re: NEW VIDEO - Female Characters
'Overwhelming majority' doesn't come into it- they were all men. Not only did women not fight, they would almost certainly have not been physically able to- armour was heavy stuff and only those who had spent their entire lives training (noblemen) were able to wear it and be able to fight effective...

Re: The General Magic: The Gathering Thread
I've wanted to collect sets, but I can't even begin to think where to begin. I mean, I probably have the entire Theros block, minus some chase Mythics, since I've been buying Fat Packs all over the place. I do wanna build some full sets of sillier stuff, like Homelands, Fallen Empires, and the Un- ...

Re: The General Magic: The Gathering Thread
Ugh, the collections I'm working on are going to be so much harder than that. 1: Phil & Kaja Foglio art -- 1+ of each printing (incl. Claymore J. Flapdoodle) 2: The reserved list excluding power nine -- 1+ of each card Shahrazad is my chase card for both collections right now. My last Reserved ...

Re: The Creatives Corner
(I think what does fuel my spread interest is me trying to succeed in being a creative professional. The more arms I have throwing objects at a wall, the greater chance something might stick and then I can pelt full force into that vein. If I keep throwing the same ball at the wall repeatedly, it m...

Re: Introduce yourselves! (A friendly topic for new members)
Hi all! I suppose I should actually introduce myself. My name is Robert Marks. I've done a few things in my life - First, I'm a published author (I wrote Demonsbane, which inaugurated the Diablo fiction line back before e-books had a market, as well as The EverQuest Companion, co-authored A Funny Th...

Re: The Creatives Corner
Is it possible to be, too creative? As in have stupidly broad creative interests? Speaking as somebody who's been in the field for around 15 years or so, I'd have to say "no." Most of the professional writers, authors, etc., who I've talked to have a similar experience to mine - what I ca...

Re: So that just happened (funny MTG stories)
Hi all! First post, but I've been a fan of LRR ever since discovering them on the Escapist. This story goes back a long ways. I started playing Magic when I was in high school, back around 1993 or '94. This was during Revised, so Sol Rings and Demonic Tutors were active cards (in fact, you were an i...
