Re: Life is Strange, and There's This Game Too
Just finished the game, and I really enjoyed the first four episodes. The first half of the last episode was also pretty good. I hated the last half of the final episode. And since we don't seem to mind having spoilers clear in the thread, I'll just go. First off, the ending. I actually didn't mind ...

Re: Magic the Gathering: Ask a Judge
It might be me that's not communicating well. I mean, I say "suggestion" or "recommendation", but that might be understating it. There really isn't a reason to not follow what it says. When I say "it's their event" I mean, "They're the head judge, and you can't re...

Re: Pokemon GO!
So I went on a Pokewalk with a bunch of people recently. Which ended with me and another guy just kind of splitting from the group. There were 7 Pokestops down a single street section, all of which were lured up. So we spent the entire time walking back and forth. Within about an hour and a half, I ...

Re: Magic the Gathering: Ask a Judge
Alright. I guess I thought the JAR was more than a suggestion. Though it being as such makes sense and is better for me to know. I'll ask them that next time I'm there to see if it's a choice not to use them. It wouldn't surprise me if it is given the place holds a good number of Competitive REL eve...

Re: Magic the Gathering: Ask a Judge
Ah, alright. I didn't quite realize that. So I suppose the question is, if that's the case, is either method acceptable? While that solution may not be the recommended one for Regular are both acceptable? I'm just wondering if it might be an active choice rather than not knowing what the JAR says.

Re: Magic the Gathering: Ask a Judge
That's the thing. The judge in question seemed confident that there's no difference between RELs in terms of how a missed trigger is handled. Even after showing him the judging at Regular REL document, specifically the passage I quoted, he still thought that having the trigger not happen was the cor...

Re: Magic the Gathering: Ask a Judge
Am I correct in thinking that, if a trigger is missed at Regular REL, it should be added to the stack if it's not disruptive, assuming it isn't a may? I had a match during prerelease where I forgot my Gavony Unhollowed trigger until after an ability resolved. Namely, I sacrified three zombies for Vo...

Re: EMN Prerelease, how'd you do?
Did excellent overall. Final record over the course of three three-round events was 7-0-2. The draws being intentional due to payout being based on record. Two events were 2HG, one was normal. Managed to win both of the draw games we played out as well, so I feel like it was a 9-0 day. Got to play a...

I dunno if someone read my post in the venting thread or if it's just very convenient timing, but we finally got another official sketch! It was the timing aspect, but I'm going to say it was me.

Re: LRRMtG
I could be wrong, but I never got the feeling any of the calls were based on chat freaking out. The only time it really felt like Serge stepped in due to chat overly freaking out was checking if Prof had >7 cards in hand. But I wasn't in chat. So I can't say that for sure. And even if they made it c...

Re: The depressing depression thread
That's okay. We still like you. Thank you. I appreciate it. As for what may have happened, that's really sad. But it sounds like there wasn't much you could have done differently if you were busy. There isn't a ton that can be done in that type of situation. Unrelated, but to be clear on one thing ...

I live in literally the middle o nowhere so I can't play this game too much, but hopefully I'll find SOMETHING when I hed up to the city for the prerelease. Bulbasaur master race Same here. Re: The depressing depression thread
I have a tendency to blame myself for everything. I always feel like I should have done more to stop things from happening, or that I've inadvertently caused something. I always feel like I'm bothering people. Every time I say anything, it feels like I'm distracting them from something they care mor...

Re: Venting Thread Delta - Now With Easy to Follow Rules
I need to start simplifying my posts. I tend to drag my thoughts out too long. Which is annoying to read and annoying to write. I almost always delete them anyways.
Also, I just realized it's been over a year and a half since we've gotten a true 'sketch.'

Re: LRRMtG
I'm not entirely sure what you think they should do differently, mtvcdm. It sounds like what you're describing is exactly what happens. If someone notices something is wrong (either chat, a player, or table fiend), then a judge comes over and fixes it as best he can. Chat freaking out is never not g...

Re: Pokemon GO!
Finally was able to play it again today. An old friend came down to search the area, and I invited her to take a walk with me. Was a lot of fun. I feel like if this game does manage to survive the initial wave of hype, it'll be thanks to the social aspect of it. I even saw a group of 7-8 people out ...

Re: LoadingReadyLIVE [the show, not the channel]
Well I'll tell you this: it wasn't written or planned to be "a slogan"... it just kinda went that way, and we're feeling out how it works. We really like it. Kathleen breaking character was very SNL, and it could go either way. I didn't mean to imply it was meant as a slogan (which likely...

Re: Venting Thread Delta - Now With Easy to Follow Rules
To be fair, I didn't have as much of a problem with the person who actually spoiled it. They weren't there for FNM, and it seemed more like they thought of it like they were just hanging with friends. I mostly mentioned that I hadn't seen it and was actually a spoiler for me, after someone jokingly ...

Re: The General Chat thread
So... I'm curious about something. Because this has been something that has been bothering me for a few weeks now. What, exactly, is the moratorium for spoilers? Like how long would you say it is before it's fine to spoil something for others? Specifically by speaking it out loud in a public setting...

Re: Venting Thread Delta - Now With Easy to Follow Rules
So a spoiler vent. I was sitting at FNM, playing Magic. I'm playing my game. I hear someone say, very loudly, a spoiler for something from Game Of Thrones that I haven't seen. I'm not sure when it happened, or how late it is. Maybe someone can tell me just how recent the spoiler is. But the person s...

Re: Predictions for eldritch moon (spoilers?)
I know we'll get a few. From what I've seen of them, I don't really like the 'corrupted' werewolves. I was hoping we'd at least get a few more regular ones. I guess the only thing I can really hold out hope for now is some wolfir or normal wolves to help push the tribal, as I doubt eldrazi-focused o...

Re: Predictions for eldritch moon (spoilers?)
That seems like a fair read. I would likely go 4/2 towards Hanweird myself. Mostly due to the fact that its abilities don't require another colorless source. But having six in the deck makes having two colorless sources more reasonable to expect and the draw ability is more relevant overall. It feel...

Re: Predictions for eldritch moon (spoilers?)
Personally, if you're running the creature anyways and it's a mono-colored deck, I'd run the land too. It's non-legendary, has utility by itself thanks to giving haste for cheap, and sometimes you get a huge creature to help finish up the game. It doesn't even have a ETB tapped downside. Being able ...

Re: The General Magic: The Gathering Thread
You're trading card advantage for versatility in the end. From what I understand Remand could never really counter something unless they were trying to counter your spell, but you were never down a card (unless they countered it of course). The new one can 'counter' anything that targets a creature....

Re: Predictions for eldritch moon (spoilers?)
Well I checked and there are only 3 pairs, 2 of them are either rare or mythic rare and the other pair is common. MaRo says that it wasn't designed for limited. Seems like that leaves plenty of DFC space available. It also depends on how we draft, 3 packs of EMN and who knows (it might feel like op...
