May I suggest getting a Sennheiser HD205 headphone for the sound check. That's what I use and I seem to be able to hear the hiss, crackle, static and pops very clearly. I don't get this kind of thing from other audio sources, just the DB video. We never said we couldn't hear it dude, our headphones...

You know what I found amusing?

Praxis is the name of a chain of Dutch hardware stores.

You could do that but have 10 ingredients. Assign a number for each ingredient e.g. Marmite - 0 Tofu - 1 Milk - 2 etc. In a time period, do a donation poll. The last figure of the donation counts towards an ingredient. E.g. A donation of $17 means you vote for Eggs. At the end, work out the % split...
