Re: Gaming General Chat Thread

While the 25-75 split on paid mods seems unfair from an outside perspective, it is relatively fair when you consider the general split you'd get making a full game. Generally speaking, one person cannot make a game alone. There are people who do, but it is incredibly rare that anyone is multitalente...

Re: Gaming General Chat Thread

He's right, nobody's talking about paid mods anymore except on the Steam Community and Nexus echo chambers. Which is funny, because the Valve/Bethsoft stance wasn't "We really shouldn't have tried to do this" it was "we shouldn't have tried to do this years after the game launched.&q...

Re: GTA Online Crews? (PC)

While Crews can have members from any platform, the game itself does not allow for crossplatform play. There is no need to create a new PC centric crew if a LRR crew already exists, but I'm not aware of any currently.

Re: The Game Venting Thread

Playing through GTA5 on PC, having already played a large chunk of it on a borrowed PS3 copy. I remember now why I never completed the game. There are practically no rewards for any of the missions or activities in the second act. Everything in the game is stupidly expensive and they throw not one b...

Re: Gaming General Chat Thread

I'm actually dreading the new Deus Ex. The choice to make it so none of the endings to HR were canon is almost as bad as Invisible Wars choice to make every ending from DX1 canon. I worry that a returning protagonist is going to change the conspiracy tone of the game. Jensen has already seen beneath...

Re: Elite: Dangerous

This is jumping to the front of my 'to get' list ($75cad...) $75? It is only $70cad on Steam . It is also on my wishlist, but sadly the price is a bit too high. Plus with a 2 year old graphics card and an 8 year old mobo and processor, I'm probably going to have to wait until I upgrade my hardware.

Re: Gaming General Chat Thread

That said, the issue I had with Order 1886 and Ground Zero(and thus why I've refused to fork out money for either) is the fact that both of them are short and there isn't much that happens at all. I just don't have the money to spend on a glorified demo. Ground Zeroes wasn't so bad, at least if you...

Not frustrated with a game, but rather parts of the gaming community; I'm on the fence about Evolve, so I've been trying to find some decent conversations about it, to determine if it is worth the investment and that has been.. difficult. A lot of conversations I've seen have been dominated by discu...

Re: Gaming General Chat Thread

I've got problems . To be fair though, I have completed 131 games in my library already, but yeah.. I really need to stop buying bundles. Unfortunately I seem to be in a bit of a lull in my gaming life. Over the past month I've completed a handful of games that I've been told are quite fun, but whi...

Welp, wife got me AC4-Black Flag on Steam for xmas... ...and, I'm actually ashamed to say that Uplay was painless for me; it still remembered my password from years ago, and installed quickly and correctly when I tried to start up thru Steam, it accepted the CD-Keys for the game and its DLC without...

This was such a wonderful sketch, it is chock full of fanservice but still feels fun without feeling forced. It was a bit sad to hear that Announcer guy got cut from the script, but there is still so much here and every character is fantastic. Graham wins the sketch for me, because Sales guy and Jon...

Re: XCOM EW Query - Console VS PC differences?

The only version of XCOM with functional differences are the iOS/Android versions, which don't have Enemy Within. They are mechanically identical to the PC / Console versions of Enemy Unknown, but have fewer tilesets for mission maps.

I would be curious to know which version of Splinter Cell: Double Agent Paul actually played. It is a little known fact that there are actually two completely different games developed under that name, one for the PC/360/PS3 and one for the PS2/GC/Xbox/Wii. The "New" version was done by th...

One of the many problems is that the current Rift tech uses a proprietary camera to handle head tracking. Being that Facebook likes to play pretty fast and loose with privacy I'm certainly not about to install drivers and a camera they can use to gather even more user data to sell off.

All of the spoilery stuff you mentioned actually happens in between games. The extended intro sequence in AC3 might actually be half interesting if it consisted of that stuff instead of.. everything it is.

Oh, and about the "All games will work on SteamOS", perhaps they have been working with the Wine devs for the games that aren't on Linux? They don't make a claim that all games will work on SteamOS, they say that all Steam Games will be playable on the Steam Machines. Remember that part o...

Just finished playing through Dark Sector because it was in a bundle and ehh.. Not a big fan of it. I was expecting it to be a bit awful, that is a given when you're looking at the sub-subgenre it lives in of late 00's shooters where you fight generic russians and/or germans but you have super power...

GMG is giving away copies of Civ V or Mafia II by voting in The Golden Joystick Awards. I believe these are Steam Keys. http://redd.it/1o835p The real travesty here is you have to choose. Both are fantastic games. Though it should be noted that Mafia 2 is not a sandbox game . It has an open world, ...

Nintendo paid Capcom a lot of money for Resident Evil 4 exclusivity, and then it came out on the PS2 with extra, exclusive content. This is something that has already gone down in the past with Capcom and "exclusive" zombie games, and so I have no real problem waiting. Edited to sound like...

I'm holding my breath on Dead Rising 3. In the past, unless MS was publishing Japanese devs tend not to go for full exclusivity on the xbox, instead going simply for a timed exclusivity period (wherein they were not allowed to mention the fact it was only a timed exclusive) I wouldn't be surprised i...

Yep, PS4 just f'ckin owned Microsoft and I loved every second of it. Except for the part where they stealthily snuck in the fact that they're charging for multiplayer right after their MS bashing. Other than that however, yeah.. They win. They won the indie market, their console is smaller, more po...
