Re: Gaming General Chat Thread

Steam actually has skins support, though it's rarely used. I personally use this Air skin. http://outsetinitiative.deviantart.com/art/Air-A-Skin-for-Steam-Steam-Music-Update-410288247 http://i.imgur.com/syztIA3h.png It's nice and clean and immune to any interface changes.

Re: The Game Venting Thread

It's interesting in RPGs how durable some enemies are. You shouldn't live for long if you've been stabbed multiple times in the gut. Are there any RPGs where the more hurt you are, the less damage you deal? Like how IRL might be. Off the top of my head, The Banner Saga works pretty much exactly lik...

Re: Youtube Buys Twitch

And to nobody's surprise, Twitch just rolled out their automated content flagging system today.

It's pretty much what you'd expect.

Re: Getting into Fallout

The Temple of Trials is a poopy butt, but at least it's over in about 30 minutes and you've got the whole world to explore after it. I've always had mixed feelings about which Fallout I like best. 2 is huge and detailed and the sheer amount of stuff to do and see in it is just absurd. But the more I...

Re: Getting into Fallout

The high INT power armored diplo-sniper is the optimal build yes, but almost any build is viable, just some are harder to play than others. I mean you can play the game with <4 INT and have a character who's literally mentally challenged, often leading to hilarious dialogue. Without going into spoil...

Re: Getting into Fallout

Glad you enjoyed SS2, it is an absolutely amazing game. Which Fallout are we talking? The original? Some basic tips for your first playthrough of any Fallout game: INT 8 is almost mandatory, there are a lot of INT checks, and it also increases your skill point gain per level. STR is less important u...

Re: Gaming General Chat Thread

Damn it, Internet, why did nobody tell me Tomb Raider was this good? I got it for free with my new graphics card, and holy crap I'm having a fantastic time with it. I mean I know it got great reviews and everyone was talking about how good it is, but I've always thought it was a lot like Uncharted, ...

Re: Remember the Game but not the Name

I'll throw in a game I've been thinking about for a long time. Last time I played it I was about 8, so 1998. It was a PC game, a top-down racing game. From what I remember there were quite a lot of different cars, So I will name the cars I do remember. There was a truck, a police car, an ambulance ...

Not to put too fine a point on it, but to my knowledge "Craftsman" is used regardless of gender, and a quick search for craftsmen associations turns up both male and female members. If having a gender neutral title is really important I could also suggest "Artisan" or if you want...

Actually Steam has been using WebKit since the UI change back in 2010.

So whatever you're seeing is fishy as hell, but please do report back with findings, I haven't seen or heard about anything like that.

Re: Name that Film!

It is indeed A Boy and His Dog, based on the book of the same name, by Harlan Ellison. One of my favorite films ever, about the adventures of a boy (he's supposed to be 15, but is actually 18 in the film) and his smart, telepathic dog, in a post-apocalyptic wasteland. It served as a huge inspiration...

Re: Youtube Buys Twitch

I don't really think automated copyright claims would work with streaming video, like they do with Youtube, since I doubt that system can monitor thousands of video streams simultaneously every minute of every day just in case someone plays some music. Besides like I said before, it IS against terms...

I would second both Alpha Protocol and Murdered: Soul Suspect, with the mention that at around 15-20 hours, Alpha Protocol might be a little bit too long.

Great stream last night, despite Doorways being the most boring game ever seen around these parts you guys managed to stay entertaining!

Also the chat, myself included, seems to be really taking to Mia. Can we keep her? We promise to take care of this one, and never repeat "the incident"
