Depending on your access to old cards, White-Black with either Teysa or Obzedat could also be quite good. Lots of great Black & White spirits and shades in the last few sets...

I don't know about the foil part, but the guild symbols are on all multicolor cards from those guilds as well as any monocolored cards that use the guild's mechanic.

For example, all Green + White cards in the block have a Selesnya watermark, as well as all cards with Populate.

If multiplayer is popular in your group, go for the Planechase deck with Ink-Eyes. Worth every penny.
