Re: Spoiler Season: Magic Origins
Although we will be visiting Lorwyn specifically, it's my understanding that by the end of that block, Lorwyn and Shadowmoor "fused" together and doesn't change anymore.

Re: Spoiler Season: Magic Origins
Lorwyn-Shadowmoor has 10 black Elf cards and 12 white Elf cards, so I consider that plane's elves to be more white than black.
But yeah, now that you mention it, I forgot that Origins already has two black elves in it.

Re: Spoiler Season: Magic Origins
So it's been mentioned that each plane in Origins will be represented by a color pair. As of right now, it looks like Ravnica is G/U, Zendikar is R/G, and Regatha is R/B. I have a sneaking suspicion that Lorwyn's color combo is G/W, since that's the color combo of elves, and Lorwyn was Nissa's first...

Re: Design a Card
There. That seems sufficiently wordy for a mythic land in a fan-made set.
The legend rule won't apply because that's not how it works anymore.

Re: Design a Card
Basically. In a four-player game, let's say that Player 2 is going first. Everyone draws their hands, and it turns out that Player 2 and Player 3 both have a Leyline Convergence they're starting the game with. First, Player 2 chooses an opponent. Then Player 3 chooses. The "stack" now has ...

The set already has something that functions similar to a land lord, and I like the way that it plays.

Regarding land tokens, see MaRo's response on the topic.
But I did re-word Essence and got it to fit on the same number of lines. Here's what it looks like now, with an example of something I'm trying out with the mechanic:

Re: Design a Card
One thing that bugs me slightly about the Essence mechanic is the memory issue, keeping track of which permanents are lands. It might help if playing the card as a land requires that you place a counter on it (the flavor of what kind of counter that is needs to be determined). The keyword could rea...

Re: Design a Card
According to the Comprehensive Rules... An object is the color or colors of the mana symbols in its mana cost, regardless of the color of its frame. Even though the Treefolk is entering as a land, it still has a mana cost if the rules ask for it, such as for determining color. As an example, one of ...

Re: Design a Card
Man. 7th Edition was a weird set. In other news, I really like Multimorph, and can see it working really well on cards with no other abilities, simply due to the fact that you get another creature out of it. As for the feedback on Essence, I'm inclined to agree that at least one of them should be un...

Re: Design a Card
Those are also all old cards, from a time where the relative power level of spells was higher and the power level of creatures was generally lower. On another topic, I was wondering what people thought of a mechanic I'm trying out called Essence. If you haven’t played a land this turn, you may play ...

Is Ugin going to lose his spark?
http://www.magicspoiler.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/Haven-of-the-Spirit-Dragon.png This card mentions returning an "Ugin planeswalker card" from your graveyard to your hand. Why would this wording ever matter unless Ugin was going to have a non-planeswalker card at some point? Why not ...

Re: Design a Card
I did mean for it to be 0 or less, you're right, and yes, that would also mean that zero and no mana cost spells would be automatically countered, but they could still be cast. If that's true, then the enchantment needs to be worded differently. As it stands, spells are just targeted as if they had...

Re: Design a Card
Grasp the Unreal [or something like that] (3) Enchantment Spells on the stack may be targeted as if they were creatures, with power and toughness equal to its converted mana cost. If a spell would be destroyed, exiled or have it's toughness reduced below 0, it is countered instead and placed in the...

You definitely weren't being a jerk, I can tell you that. You both agreed to play it out instead of drawing before the games, and so that's what should have been reported.

If I understand correctly, since the Image will enter the battlefield as a Land and not a creature, Humility won't do anything to it until it becomes animated.

Re: A game called "Identify lands in Jer's Phelddagrif deck"
#1 isn't Wasteland, it's Temple of the False God.
#28 is Eiganjo Castle. If you look at the type line, it's too long to be anything other than a Legendary land.

Re: Design a Card
I also wasn't sure if that division rule exists. I think I could still leave it as is though. It still works as large removal (base 4 damage +1 for each strive). Look at it this way: The more mana you spend on Atarka's Breath, the less damage you can assign to each creature. Eventually, it gets to ...

Re: Design a Card
Dromoka's Breath doesn't work the way you want it to. As part of casting a spell, you need to choose targets. Therefore, the opponent's creature's won't lose shroud and hexproof until after targets have already been chosen. Atarka's Breath is interesting, although the rules don't allow you to choose...

Re: Design a Card
I actually just decided to go with Fissured Prairie, but thanks! Also, the point of these lands is to basically be slower (but eventually better) versions of the filter lands from Lorwyn. For example, compare Flooded Grove with Kelp Forest . If they used colorless mana to Level Up, it'd lead to a de...

Re: Modern Masters 2015 Discussion
MMA 2015 is closer to somebody's actual cube, since it's filled with a bunch of synergistic cards, instead of something with very specific decks that you can build, and if you don't follow one of those archetypes, you'll lose.
