Re: Commander/EDH Deck Talk
I've tried to push my CounterToken deck into a slesnya direction, using Rhys the redeemed. Though I am still not absolutely happy with it, as it is pretty slow. But I can't really find anything I can easily see myself cutting (except maybe rings and forge) http://tappedout.net/mtg-deckpaste/the- ......

Re: Commander/EDH Deck Talk
Ideas: (not necessarily good, as I am just starting myself) Replace 'Stronghold Assassin' with 'Attrition' Call to the kindred seems a bit clunky, potentially. You might want Grindstone/Clock for smaller increments of self milling for sidisi. Also 'Grave Betrayal' fits in here massively. (Basically ...

Re: Commander/EDH Deck Talk
So now I've had several encounters with 'Prophet of Kruphix' and am starting to really hate it, to the point that I've started a "think hard if you want to play against account name X" on mtgo. Since the decks that run it also tend to run no-max-handsize and massive carddraw (consecrated s...

Re: Commander/EDH Deck Talk
I play commander on mtgo, exclusively multiplayer though. Why is it that nobody knows about Coffin Queen? I get double-takes and puzzled looks whenever I resolve her, and even then she isn't that high up the hit list. I had never heard of that card before your comment, so I went and got myself one f...

Re: Commander/EDH Deck Talk
My Ghave Commander deck is now in a state that I can play it in, and from the handful of games so far, it is surprisingly versatile in execution.

Re: So that just happened (funny MTG stories)
Not particularly funny, but I got a chuckle out of it. Test game with my new Ghave based commander deck in 4 player free for all. Oponent plays Kozilek, both other opponents have deathtouchers out. I already fear for my life-total. Next turn he runs his Kozilek straight into the mono-black players d...

Re: Commander/EDH Deck Talk
I have started trying to make a deck that runs on my 2 favourite things, (expendable) tokens and (stupid amounts of) counters. So far I've only looked at cards that have interactions with those two things, so this is just basically a list of cards I think would be good in such a deck, I'm just looki...

I like it a lot.
Though my decks have the nasty habit of never giving me my 1st pick rare in any actual game. So far, my experience has been, that jeskai may have gotten a whole lot stronger, but also a tad more finnicky.

Re: Custom cards - Playability assessment
At 2 toughness, Murderous Kraut will likely be more often blocked than his ability comes into play. For the same reason I'd make this card one of those where the CMC of both regular casting and dash are the same. Murder US, Kraut is basically a Jeskai infiltrator effect. It could actually work well,...

The Mardu combo (with all 3 on the board) is just too good to pass up. Though I'd need either Zurgo or shanker as my pack 1 pick 1, the ascendancy is just not that for me. With all 3 though, things are insane. Even just for 1 turn Zurgo is now an indestructible 7/2 first strike deathtouch. Though th...

Re: Custom cards - Playability assessment
I agree with tamaness.
Tinny's second ability at -2 for 1/1s.
If Tinny was supposed to be Blue not Black, then it may also work to have the +1 create a number of tins equal to your devotion to blue.

Re: Custom cards - Playability assessment
Planar Cartographer: Chassis: Good +1: Very Nice -2: This is okay but a relatively low threat. Further in oder to get anything big (4+ CMC) you have to +1 a whole bunch. So you may get to the situation that you have to decide to either draw your scried bomb or keep it in the library for the -2 abili...

That is not a deck that I would personally draft with my experiences. BUt I can definitely see how it would work. "Fight you, Fight you, Fight you." Sadly so far my only good experinces have been with Mardu or Abzan. The one time i drafted High Sentinels they basically closed out every gam...

Re: The General Magic: The Gathering Thread
I've been drafting Khans and so far I've only had any luck with Mardu or Abzan. So No Blue is not actually that bad sounding to me.
Especially as the two seemingly most prominent 1/1 deathtouchers are in white and black.

Format idea: Un-Block Constructed. Unhinged, Unglued, and Conspiracy. God, that'd be banana sandwich, but so hilarious. Every time a draft is held, the person in charge would be obligated to say. "To third pack was supposed to be Unlimited, but we couldn't find any anymore so we'll just substi...

I am so happy right now I have to post this inane bit. When I started playing MtGO earkier this year I tried a new player draft once. Considering that I had no idea what I was doing I did horribly. Friday Nights Hero's path related thought
When Graham and Kathleen fought the Hydra, there was the B-plot about what constitutes a snake and what constitutes a hydra.
Khans of Tarkir now has the Hooded Hydra, which is a Snake Hydra by type.
That could be a nice callback in one of the videos.
