Re: The Limited thread
On Friday I opened what may well have been my first three magic packs for my first draft. I made a green-white token generating mess, and somehow I went 1-1-1. It was enough to win 2 packs at any rate. Looking at my deck, there are a lot of problems with it. In particular, I really needed removal. I...

Re: Gaming General Chat Thread
Atlas Reactor is a game that's basically a turn based MOBA. Here's a Polygon article on it . I've played a few games in the open alpha that's going on right now, and it seems pretty good. It isn't as complicated as LoL, so it's much easier to get in the game. The other thing that I really like is t...

Omnishamble is a fantastic word, and I will try to use it wherever I can from now on.
I feel like the noise from Adam's beard rubbing on the mic at 1:29:13 says more about his feelings on Eva Maria and the whole Diva's situation more than words ever could.

I said it before, but I'm still really impressed that the Moonbase crew was able to put that crapshot together as quickly as they did.

This sounds more dismissive than I intend, but pro wrestling sounds like a sports soap opera. It's a long running show with sometimes contrived plot lines, and no ultimate resolution in sight. It also sounds really awesome for those that can get into it. You guys have really sold me on Dean Ambrose....

After watching the pre-prerelease, I had a question about the double sided cards. How are you supposed to play with them without sleeves? Are you just allowed to know when it pops up to the top of your deck?

Re: General LRL Stream Feedback
I wasn't sure who would most enjoy playing one of the games, which is part of why I sent the email where I did. One would definitely be for Crossing the Streams though. I'll bug a few people on twitter and see what happens I guess. If you're curious, the games I had in mind are Redshift Blueshift an...

I sent an email to a while ago asking about if I could send some game codes to be played on stream, but never heard back. Should I just PM someone about it instead?

I played a tank when I beat Dark Souls, and it was a few years ago, so this might not apply to you/be inaccurate. I always took boss fights very defensively. I fought Ornstein first, always letting him come to me. I think I tried to keep one of the pillars between him and Smough, to buy me a bit mor...

Re: LRRcast - Top Five Sketches
I'm pretty sure this is the longest LRRcast ever. Watching the videos mentioned really added to the length. I really don't know how I would be able to rank my top 5 videos, let alone choose them consistently. 1. The Couch - People more eloquent than I have spoken about why this is so good, and I com...

Re: The General Magic: The Gathering Thread
Thanks for the advice. I'm not completely new. I think it's most accurate to say I know how to play, but have absolutely no game sense. I learned how to play 12 years ago or something, but only played a really simple deck. It was a mono green deck, and the strategy was basically play creatures that ...

Re: The General Magic: The Gathering Thread
I am interested in learning how to play Magic, but I have absolutely no interest in any form of constructed, and I don't want to play online. Does anyone have any suggestions on what to do other than just show up at my FLGS and pretend like I know what I'm doing in a draft?

Re: LRRcast - Concentrated Value
I think the "It's too short" complaint is subtly misleading. I read that complaint as "It wasn't a good game, and could have been better if it were longer". I would say "I didn't want it to end", for the reasons Paul mentioned. I think a great example of a game that &qu...

If you're in one of the regions it supports (US, Canada, UK, Australia), because.moe is a really easy way to see if an anime is licensed for streaming. If not, it might still be worth while checking out the sites it searches to see if they stream it in your country. I don't kn...

I also asked some friends elsewhere, and I'm going to play Self aware, but pandering JRPG, aka Hyperdimension Neptunia. The other games were: ⋅ Freedom Planet (Totally not Sonic) ⋅ Out There Somewhere (Teleporter Space Platformer) ⋅ Undertale (Wordy shmup or shmuppy wor...

- Defence Grid 1/2 where you make pretty murder mazes. I was actually looking for a suggestion from my intentionally obtuse list. I also burned out on the whole tower defence genre a few years ago. Between Dungeon Defenders, Defender's Quest, Sanctum (2), Fieldrunners, Defense Grid, and Sol Survivo...

Hmm, if you're in New Zealand, then I think your best bet for streaming is on Anime Lab. I'm not sure how different the streaming licensing is between NZ and AU, but you could also see what comes up on http://because.moe/au

My first thought when you said something mundane about gardening was Silver Spoon . It's a show about an agricultural school in rural Japan. I haven't watched it myself, so I can't personally recommend it, but I know a lot of people who really enjoyed it. It's supposed to be very down to earth and ...

Part of the problem with Sakurako-san was that she has no foil. Shoutaro, if you'll allow the Bones comparision, is no Booth. Aside from his interest in Sakurako, a normal highschool boy, whereas Booth is a very capable FBI agent, who is also great with people. Booth reminds Sakurako of the human el...

Re: I remember the game but not its name
So, there was a discussion in the LRR chat about what horrors the new Fire Emblem hath brought, and in the meantime I ended up thinking of an old JPRG that I can't remember the name of. It was a fairly iconic or memorable game, I just can't think of the name of it unfortunately. In this game you st...

Re: Let's play through our backlogs
It's been a while since I updated the thread. I've mostly been playing recently bought games for the past few months, rather than games that have been sitting in my library for years. Since my last update, I've only beaten two games. Eternal Senia is a free action jrpg which was a good mindless game...
