Re: Loading Ready Sealed League
Atifexe 2-0 Zarbit After MTGO lagged and I wound up F6ing through my first turn of the first game, Zarbit was kind enough to skip the second turn to even things back out. Solid aggressive plays from my opponent were met with timely removal on my side, including a Sleep Paralysis on the Goldnight Ca...

Re: New Vanilla 1.9 Server!
I think we can help with that. Did you build the netherside portal yourself? If not, could you post the Overworld coordinates of your portal?

Re: New Vanilla 1.9 Server!
I'd be happy to collaborate on an iron farm, to be sure! Though, if we can't use the spawn chunks, the question becomes less of "where" and more "which design do we use?" Did you have one in mind?

Re: New Vanilla 1.9 Server!
Fair enough. Large iron farms do tend to be significant space investments, and the need to allow line of sight to the sky makes putting them underground difficult at best. I'll keep looking for efficient alternatives.

Re: Hedron Alignment in Standard
If you add white, you can use Angelic Purge to (potentially) get one into the graveyard and one into exile simultaneously, assuming they were both on the battlefield when you cast it.
Alternatively, you could add Horribly Awry, and aim to counter your own Hedron Alignment to get it into exile.

Re: New Vanilla 1.9 Server!
I would like to construct an iron golem farm on the server, but I'm not sure which one to go with. I have an idea for a project that would require an obscene amount of iron, so I'm tempted to go with something super productive, and all the best designs in that regard require construction in the spaw...

MTGO name is Atifexe.
Pool:
Timezone is Pacific, same as LRR.
As an aside, I have no idea what to build from this.

Re: Shameless Self-Promotion Thread!
Hey Occam! I just completed level 100 of classic mode, then played some of endless mode. I love it! It's simple yet challenging. I do have one small nitpick, though - after the last few levels of classic mode, the stuff endless mode is throwing at me seems really easy. Is that a limitation of the cu...

Re: Standard Discussion
If you copy an X-cost spell, and the effect doesn't say "You may cast the copy without paying it's mana cost", then X is whatever X was when you cast the spell. Similarly for paying an alternate cost, etc - as long as you aren't casting the copy, all the same decisions/payments/alternate c...

Are there any plans for a shopping district or anything like that in spawn? I'd like to set up a shop there once I finally finish building my base, and I don't want to cramp anyone's style by tossing it somewhere in the way.

Re: Magic the Gathering: Ask a Judge
Actually, I think you can. Unless I'm mistaken, you have two triggers from one action - the Madness trigger on Fiery Temper, and the untap trigger from Chandra. If you stack the Madness trigger first, then Chandra's untap, the untap will resolve and both players will get priority (thus allowing you ...

Re: New Vanilla 1.9 Server!
We currently don't have a map. I've used http://buildingwithblocks.info/ and some google docs magic to hack an updateable map together: Overworld: https://goo.gl/acQBJT Nether: https://goo.gl/knVkBi To my knowledge, that's the only map available. It doesn't autoupdate, and it's definitely missing a...

Re: Magic the Gathering: Ask a Judge
Yes, cards cast with Madness can be countered - they're still being cast, you're just doing so in an unorthodox way. No, countering it doesn't negate the ability that caused the discard. In many cases, that ability will have already resolved when the Madness ability actually lets you cast the spell,...

Woo, I did the worst! No one else can match my ability to lose! XD
Also, it seems people like having a punching bag opponent. I've received another sponsorship offer for this round, so barring anything changing, I'll be taking part in this round after all.

Re: SoI Prerelease - How'd You Do?
My girlfriend and I went to Yellowjacket's Two-Headed Giant prerelease, and our record for the day was 2 losses, a bye, and a last-round opponent concession because they were 0-3 and couldn't get packs either way, but we could thanks to the bye. We gave them each a pack and kept four for ourselves, ...

Re: Loading Ready Sealed League
This was fun, even though I didn't win very many games. I'm not sure if that's a result of me getting either overly careless or overly careful when up a game, or if it was something else I was missing. I was impressed with the frequency with which I drew Bane of Bala Ged, and though I didn't manage ...

I think I'll request an invite, please. Due to some streaming- and Youtube-related changes, my Minecraft SN is now WiseDrachenJager.
I don't plan on recording anything on the server, and if that changes, I'll ask people if they're okay with me featuring their work before I do so.

Re: Magic the Gathering: Ask a Judge
Correct, Madness ignores the normal timing restrictions. I did quickly scan the Comprehensive Rules on Madness for some clarification, but it wasn't there. Instead, I will present this quote from the MTG Salvation wiki (and perhaps someone with better CompRules-searching-skills will be able to find ...

The artifact you're referring to, Tinfish, is Crucible of Worlds. Card Kingdom currently says you'll be parting with between $55 and $70 US if you want a copy.

Atifexe 0 - 2 KeiranLC Sometimes, even when everything goes well, victory is impossible. I strongly disagree with Memo's suggestion of "don't let them have fun if you can't have fun", as I feel that only stands to reinforce the image of you as the bad guy. For that matter, the only time I've encountered someone being targeted regardless of what deck they're using is when they'...

Re: Loading Ready Sealed League
Game one was a bit of a grind, but ultimately it proved impossible to deal with the combined forces of Mindmelter, Benthic Infiltrator, and Essence Depleter - and as if to foreshadow future events, Bane of Bala Ged appeared on the last turn. Hacofo's defense was well thought out and I think would ha...

Re: Commander/EDH Deck Talk
Well, it might push the total investment out of the $30 range, but picking up a preconstructed Commander deck can be a great way to get plenty of the ramp/fixing cards you're looking for. Plus, if you're willing to engage in some trading, I'm sure there are folks here or in your local community who ...
