Re: Danger Canadian poltics.

Can I just say that the proportional vote Senate we have in Aus is one of the few things holding the country in semi-decent political stead.

I'm surprised that Canada has this rubber-stamped Senate rather than the voted norm, tbh :/

Re: What in the heck is you avatar from?

I came across a picture of an anteater randomly, and it was display-pic-able. I'm pretty boring when it comes to avatars since I generally get one randomly and roll with it for a very long time.

However, an anteater is endlessly badass in most cases, so I'm fine to keep it.

Re: Windows 7!!

Windows 7 is a bit of a disappointment. It's half of what Vista was planned to be, and even over Vista there's not much in the way of "wow, I need this". Past self would call current self crazy, but I'm moving toward using Wine on my macbook. It works for a few games, and the rest I can ei...

Re: Danger Canadian poltics.

My take on politics in general... Vote in a representative from the main party which you currently see as the lesser of two evils - anything else is almost always a donkey vote. As for the senate candidate you vote for, vote something 'crazy' like the Greens. You get mainstream policies from the par...

And no, I won't sign the Non-Compete, guys.

Re: Thinking about taking a break from the internets.

I *should* do this, but I don't. If there's one thing I know is unhealthy, it's my net browsing. But when I'm a CS student and I don't find myself doing other things (I'm not musical, I don't know what language to learn, and while it's good to drink, I'm not near that many parties...) it's not going...

It's simple.. we're all getting actual gold medals instead. *waits* .... *tumbleweed*.... While my epeen would be increased by having a 1k medal, I'm not chomping at the bit and demanding it "NAOW!" when there are other things for the LRR crew to do. However, a Runners' Lieutenant medal I'...

Tally just rocked my socks off - highlarious! So I picked my stylus up, and got a replacement pair.

Actually, I might have to get a damn DS. First a load of people I know praising it, now a LRR video. Gah, peer pressure..

.. also, if I took the time to Digg it, the rest of you can!

intense intrigue intense! One of the reasons I never got into video editing was that I had no videos to edit. That, and random codec and export issues were a bitch whenever I did. I want to be Mathew Wiggins... oh, wait, that's mutually exclusive to growing up :P

In all reality, and against the grain of this thread, I actually want to be one of Bungie's graphics engineers.

Re: One step closer towards a new Piratebay trial

The APPEALS judge was pulled because the XXAA's complained because he was associate a company that made file-sharing tech. They have money, so they got their way. Not exactly. You're right about it being money and getting their way. Rather than being involved in making file-sharing tech or being as...

Not as bad as this case, by any means.

If the proverbial carrot is dangled, there are plenty of people who would take it. I think myself a moralistic person and I'm not in any money troubles, but I have to understand it's rather different for plenty of people.

Rip them to a rather large hard disk and/or acquire movies *cough* legitimately *cough* when on campus. Never underestimate the potential leeching that can occur over DC++ when living in any given college on campus.

I'm not guilty of that myself though. Living on campus, that is :)
