Re: Best favourite and longest game
I sunk a hell of a lot of hours into L4D in the first six months after it was released. Also WoW, which I still play.

Re: Need some help with newly built computer
Dave-O, are these brand new empty hard drives? If so they might not be formatted, which means Windows may not detect them as available storage drives. See if windows can spot them as empty drives awaiting partitioning. Click on the start menu and type Disk Management in the search thingy at the bot...

Re: Crazy password reset question
I dont think the picture will get you an credit. And it sounds like theyre asking you "When we did this for you lasttime, what did we default-style reset your password to" sending them a scan of a CD key for a game that you have attached to the account is standard proceedure for Steam onc...

Crazy password reset question
I forgot my Steam password today. Oops! Standard practice in this situation is of course to use the password retrieval system to reset it. However, Steam support decided to send me a crazy 'secret' question for me to answer: [quote] What did customer support last reset your passphrase to? [\quote] W...

http://blackle.com/logo_hm.jpg Blackle . It's essentially Google, but everything is black. it supposedly saves energy because it's not displaying the bright, white Google homepage. Which is ofcourse bullshit because the backlight is always on, on a constant level. (If anything black requires MORE e...

Re: Do you want to be famous?
However, I still love singing and singing infront of people. I would love to make it my career but I realize that at 25 I'm probably never going to be anything more then what I am now. I work at UPS now so I guess I just traded acronyms. You don't need to be famous in order to sing in front of peop...

Re: Need a new homepage
Google reader for me. I used to use iGoogle until I realised that the only thing I really cared about on there was reader.
Having said that, whenever I close my browser it saves my session so that when I open it again I get all my old tabs back. Therefore my homepage is somewhat redundant.

small-large. small-medium-large will give you the exact same mechanical advantage as going straight from small to large.

Re: Don't know where to put this.
I have been unable to view any videos from at least 2007 and back. Anyone else experiencing these problems? It's ok. That's when the internet was last rebooted. Any unsaved data from before then was lost. Seriously though: Could be a problem with the video host (Revver was the one from back then, I...

Re: Making a computer. (Calling all computer making Pros)
A few things: -Don't skimp on thermal paste for your cpu. Good stuff makes a hell of a difference. -Touch radiators before handling bits of hardware so you are earthed. Static can occasionally damage things. -If you have a plastic case and a super bright light on it so you can see what you're doing...

Re: Trying to make a stupid little machine thingy
As pointed out above, gears are definitely the way to go. Definitely don't try bridging the gap where the second battery should go. It may not be dangerous per-say, but it's not the right way to go about it.

Re: Making a computer. (Calling all computer making Pros)
Question; What sort of skills do you need to build a computer? And tools? Is it simple screwing-things-together, do you solder a few wires, or is it involved electrical work? Is it something you shouldn't attempt without help or experience? The only tool you'll need is a screwdriver, there's no sol...

Re: Making a computer. (Calling all computer making Pros)
I think what you've got there right now is pretty damn good. You can argue all day over minor differences in cpus, video cards etc. but when it comes down to it that build is a good solid gaming build with lots of room for upgrades later on. Go buy it!

England for me. Although with all our injuries lately it's going to be tough. Who's up for getting to the semi-finals then losing on penalties? We are!
