Re: Venting Thread Delta - Now With Easy to Follow Rules

It's -11C right now, -20C windchill. In November.

Just about froze my fingers off trying to dig my car out of the snow last night, and again this morning. :(

Ow.

Winter is coming.

Re: Venting Thread Delta - Now With Easy to Follow Rules

That's the thing, I don't know. I don't want kids. I guess I want to live with my boyfriend but at the same time that doesn't seem to matter much when I sit down and think about it. I miss him right after I leave and then I stop feeling sad about it. I assume that's normal-ish, but it means when peo...

Re: Venting Thread Delta - Now With Easy to Follow Rules

I have envied the terminally ill for a long time. It's idiotic, I'm aware, but I do nonetheless. I wish I had the excuse to stop what I'm doing and to focus time on the things I enjoy. I feel like no one else shares my sense of urgency when it comes to these things. I want what I want and I want it ...

Re: How are you feeling... in song

As you look around this room tonight Settle in your seat and dim the lights Do you want my blood, do you want my tears? What do you want? (What do you want from me?) Should I sing until I can't sing anymore? Play these strings until my fingers are raw? You're so hard to please What do you want from ...

Re: Siblings

Does anyone think the presence of siblings or lack thereof meaningfully affected their world view? Like do any only children feel more in tune with individualism than those with siblings around them, etc? I have no siblings and it's really hard to say. As an "only child" I've had a lot of...

Re: The thread of win

Spent all of yesterday implanting cannulas (tubes) in rat brains/mouthes. Had a meeting with one of my supervisors today and he said he had heard I was integrating well, that I picked things up quickly, and that I was committed. Pretty sure he almost said he was proud, lol, but he corrected himself ...

Re: Venting Thread Delta - Now With Easy to Follow Rules

I might die of stress. Last night I had serious chest pains. This morning I tried to sleep, and woke up to my heart racing. I can't sleep or eat. Maybe I'll waste away if I'm lucky, or I'll pass out and wake up in the hospital. At least then I'll have an excuse to take a day off.

Re: Venting Thread Delta - Now With Easy to Follow Rules

Having a small panic attack this weekend at the thought of everything that needs to be done. I ended up planning my entire experiment in a week after an email from one supervisor that said, "I think we can do one experiment before the end of the term." If we did do that experiment, we woul...

Re: Venting Thread Delta - Now With Easy to Follow Rules

My issue is, though, that I don't think I am different than I was two years ago. I look back at my old self and I see myself making the same mistakes now as I did then, the same cognitive biases, the same depressive spirals, the same feeble attempt at not being such a self-centered dickwad. I am pro...

Re: Venting Thread Delta - Now With Easy to Follow Rules

Looking back through old Skype conversations can be dangerous. Maybe you look back and see you were kind of a bitch. You pushed a friend away until you cut off all contact. You thought they were the source of your problems, but as they pointed out at the time, your problem is with yourself. You just...

Re: Venting Thread Delta - Now With Easy to Follow Rules

I'm staying away from the depression thread because it seems whenever I post there I just make things worse, even though that's never my intention. Anyway, that's not the point... the point is that I am getting to the point where I might go drop in on counselling services on-campus. I've always been...

Re: Venting Thread Delta - Now With Easy to Follow Rules

I keep waking up in the morning unable to walk properly because my legs won't bend all the way. I guess this is what people call "stiffness"? I call it "big, invisible rubber bands keeping my knees bent"

Anyway, it sucks. Come on, legs, we got shit to do.

Well this is just a simple song To say what you done I told you 'bout all those fears And away they did run You sure must be strong And you feel like an ocean Made warm by the sun When I was just nine years old I swear that I dreamt Your face on a foodball field And a kiss that I kept Under my vest ...

Re: The Sims 4?

I want to get it, but I keep debating with myself over the cost. I'd have to buy it in-store, and with tax it comes out to $70-80 depending on the edition. That's about 3 sushi dinners, or 6-7 normal dinners out. But the emotions thing, man, I think that's really cool, I always found sims in Sims 3 ...

Thanks for the suggestion, Met. My supervisor is generally a very amicable guy, though, and very good at giving credit where credit is due. He'll list you as an author as long as you contributed to the project in some meaningful way. I also added myself to the list of authors on projects I worked on...
