Re: GPLP: Dante's Inferno

Sorry. I should have inputted the spoiler tags. Fixed, now.

But yeah, it's like another plot decides to show itself at the end of the game.

Re: GPLP: Dante's Inferno

Since we're nearing the end, I just want to say that it never occurred to me that those chains Dante was breaking were the Chains of Judecca, nor did I know that he was unknowingly setting Lucifer free. You would think that I should have seen it coming, but...nope.

I enjoyed the eighth circle, game-wise, since the whole thing was an endurance run with different stipulations per malebolge.

Secondly, that fight with Francesco was really annoying when I first fought him. I don't think I can remember how I got passed him, aside from simply dodging and button-mashing.

Re: GPLP: Dante's Inferno

Actually, the word for 'hell' (or an analogue anyway - Gehenna, or the Valley of the Son of Hinnom) comes from the name of a burning garbage pit outside ancient Jerusalem (though there are other connotations to it as well). It's where the bodies of bad folk get dumped when they die. Wait... I thoug...

Re: GPLP: Dante's Inferno

I would totally want to learn more of this stuff from you, Brad. While I admit that a lot of the historical bits in Dante's Inferno (the poem, not the game) went over my head, the imagery of it left a good impression. And it's the kind of book that is completely out of my comfort zone for reading ma...

Man, I would love for them that have put Virgil in there as sort of classics scholar Navi: "Hey, hey... listen! In the middle of the sea there lies a wasteland, that is known as Crete, under whose king the world knew innocence. There is a mountain there that was called Ida; then happy in its v...

It really is a testament to the game level design that I have no idea what specific room you are referencing.

The room from the beginning of Pt. 8.

I got tired of waiting and just replayed the game, myself. Playing it again after a year or so, I still like this game. And I'll admit that I like Dante as a character, after he journeys through "the Wood of Suicides." Unsurprisingly enough, the ninth circle from the book is more interesti...

I can't believe it. I. Cannot. Believe it. Brad said that Satan is encased in ice (true) and has some people at his feet (false). How could he get that wrong? The main part of the final circle of Hell is Satan encased in ice up to his torso. He has three heads. In one head is Brutus, in the other i...

Re: GPLP: Dante's Inferno

Because of this Let's Play, I decided to pick up the Divine Comedy again, and made it all the way to Canto 34 from where I left off (somewhere near the end of the 8th circle). And I have to say that I am genuinely scared to read any further. I'm not a religious person (nor atheist), but after readin...
