Re: Gravity Falls

Oh, I'm sure there's TONS of stuff I missed, that signpost being one of them. I'm slowly rewatching the series and trying to pick up on more things.

Re: Gravity Falls

I have exactly one issue with Gravity Falls: I spent the entire show's length waiting for the gnome ring and beard hair Mabel got to become relevant and it never did. I thought for SURE they'd have some magic properties and importance. Oh, I guess I was also hoping for the zodiac circle and its rela...

Re: Anyone up for some tech support?!

I tried tinkering around with some other stuff to no avail, but didn't have time to do any thorough scrubbing until just now. I'm doing a deep virus scan and then will move onto my malware scanner. Nothing popping up so far. And of course everything's running fine now. Just went and got caught up on...

Anyone up for some tech support?!

Sorry if this is off-discussion, but I'm having such a weird issue that I don't even know where to begin troubleshooting or finger-pointing. I'm hoping somebody here would have an idea. So for the past couple days I've been having weird internet connectivity problems. This computer simply won't play...

Re: Standard Discussion

I started putting together a mono-glass commander deck, but sadly I do not have enough colorless cards to fill it. I'm really wishing all these Eldrazi were actually colorless instead of just Devoid!

Re: Gaming General Chat Thread

I wish I could have been surprised by the reveal, but sadly, it was painfully obvious for a multitude of reasons. But more interesting... The R/B/Y VC releases have Pokemon Bank compatibility?! How will that even work?! What about the Special split? Lack of natures and abilities? Can you still do th...

Re: LRR Minecraft Server

I've been wanting to get back into Minecraft, and I vastly prefer vanilla to all the crazy nonsense most mods introduce, so I'd be thrilled to see the vanilla server come back up. But I also have like no time to play right now anyway, so yeah, it'd be nice to see but there's no pressure.

Re: Sorceror

I like the idea, but I feel like it's not as graceful of an execution as Commander is. Sounds like it could get real wonky real fast.

Re: Commander/EDH Deck Talk

So I have all of these awesome ocean creatures and want to make a deep-sea themed commander deck. The only problem is the only viable commander I have is Teferi, who breaks the theme and prevents me from using my Kiora. Anyone have any good suggestions for commanders I could try to get ahold of? Som...

It is great to see Kathleen return to her rightful position of Head Dumper, but it is also great to see her totally embracing and rocking the mom haircut.

Was that picture of the floral arrangement the before or the after shot? Because I'm having trouble seeing anything more than four legs and a tail.

Re: I remember the game but not its name

Bingo! Lufia & the Fortress of Doom was the one. Thank you. I played the first two but I'm not sure I played any after that when they went to Gameboy. The Game Boy one is pretty good. Every dungeon is fully randomized, a feature that starts to wear out its welcome pretty fast, but it has a real...

Re: Colorless Mana and You

So if a Commander were to only have "generic" cost and no specifically colorless mana cost (like the old Kozilek), would that deck be allowed to use Wastes? I guess what I'm mainly hung up on is if this new colorless mana concept is truly considered a specific kind of mana, or if it's just...

Colorless Mana and You

I'm quite fascinated and confused by all these new cards that require colorless mana, and the Wastes that support them. I'm curious to see what more experienced players think about them. I can already tell that building a pure colorless deck probably isn't the best idea, but how seriously should one...

Re: The General Magic: The Gathering Thread

I got a fair amount of Cohort cards out of my fat pack, and all I could think of when I saw them was "why would I ever use this ability?" Maybe if you have a lot of Kor Ally tokens floating around?

Re: They finally did it... LRR got me to start playing Magic

I quickly learned that my favorite type of cards are the ones that do tricky sneaky nonsense. (Glances at forum avatar.) I guess my first deck I have here would be a "control" deck, with lots of Blue and White cards devoted to countering spells, tapping enemy creatures, and drawing more ca...

Re: Books you're reading now

During my wine class at school, I learned that I was surprisingly interested in the history of wine. My teacher suggested a book called "Wine & War," a recounting of wine's involvement in various conflicts. I finally started it up last night, and it's already proving to be pretty inter...

They finally did it... LRR got me to start playing Magic

I resisted for years, but I finally caved. Got a whole bunch of Zendikar for Christmas, picked up a pile of boosters from other sets, have plans to go get a Gatewatch fat pack this weekend, and even impulse purchased a Commander deck. (Haven't actually played yet, as I'm looking for people that actu...

Re: Bill.

It's strange how the passing of someone I've never met can feel so personal. Being a big, big fan of LRR for years and years (despite what my forum activity may suggest) and seeing Bill in all those sketches and Desert Busses kinda made him a small fixture in my life, along with everyone else. Some ...
