I'm probably gunna get murdered for this, but image macros suck and motivational posters suck even more. Especially when they are neither motivational, nor - hilariously - the opposite; but merely an excuse to do a macro without really doing a macro. Now I'm torn between my desire to not wanting to...

No one said they're all innocent: There are plenty of reasons for it, among them are socio-economics. But it's not "a 4000 difference". It's, 12.8% of the country is african american. Compared to 40.9% of the prison population is african american Men make up less than half the population,...

Hey, Evil Jim: tell me about ZOMG. "OMG" is common shorthand for "Oh my god!" or "Oh my goodness!" The extra Z comes from the user overzealously striking the left Shift key to type "OMG" and accidentally hitting the Z as well. This was such a common happensta...

I will never understand that -People in the ER whining about a sore throat to the triage nurse while car accident victims and heart attacks are rolled through. A lot of the problems in cases like this are down to dumb laws saying that people at A&E/ER should be seen within a certain time. Over ...

Re: Even newer, betterer ads!

Bob, if you get ABP for firefox and set it to allow LRR ( they deserve their ad income ), you can see all the ads, but incase of an ad triggering a popup it would block it, seeing the popup originates from an alternate domain. This will reduce the risk of malware/spyware/adware from getting on your...

Re: Even newer, betterer ads!

Firefox just told me it stopped the forums from opening a pop-up window. I didn't let it through to check what it was, but I'm guessing it's something ad related, as all pop-ups inevitably are. As you have said you don't like obnoxious ads such as interstitials, inserting links into normal text, and...

Re: New formats V. Old formats.(apparently)

The camera argument isn't directly applicable. With a digital camera you can get a noticeably bad image. For example, make a 100*100 pixel image, then blow it up 10 times. Even with the best enlargement algorithm, it's going to look blocky and therefore rubbish. Digital sound, however just sounds di...

(1)There's no point replying to them within the same thread. If the crew don't notice a spam-bot, a post beneath it isn't going to help. It also makes no sense once the post is removed. I report them with the report link.

No answers to (2) and (3).

Re: Planning a trip to Jolly olde England

Nice beaches? You must be mistaken as to where you are visiting. Surprisingly enough, Norfolk does actually have a couple of these mythical beasts. Actual sand and everything. Of course, there's no Landmass between the beach and Siberia, so the waters and wind are a tad on the chilly side. Pretty m...

If it's a wall-mounting thing, use the screw holes in the back, otherwise there should be some form of pole to go between the stand and the TV.

Traditionally, affixing a stamp on a letter upside down means you love the recipient. However, this doesn't mean the gas company will be any more lenient on your late payments. It's also covered under the treason act (along with mutilating currency) as defacing the image of the Monarch. Other thing...

Equity doesn't exist anymore.

It does, you just don't have to be in it to be an Actor anymore. Most actors are in Equity, it's just not required.

Re: Use the flag right or the cops takes it from you

The flag laws are one of the greatest argument for a system of Monarchy I have ever heard. After all, we don't have to keep the Queen off the ground at all times, we don't have to worry about hanging her upside-down, and we can't get arrested for using her as an embellishment on clothing. Of course,...

Considering the initial idea was for a marathon leading up to the final episode, which would have been out for almost a month by the end of August, this somewhat defeats the point.

I'm stoked for its Blu-ray release. (If it looked that good on a blurry-ass theater projection screen, I can't imagine how it'll look in HDMI high-def.) What kind of sucky cinemas do you go to? Analogue projection should always be better than a digital reproduction. Even Blu-Ray looses content comp...
