Re: Keab-Shaming
So Keab, have you watched any of this stuff, yet? I'd like to hear what you think of what you've watched.

Yeah, not just Australia. My next-door neighbour when I was a kid had one. Not common, but they exist elsewhere.
Edit: Oh! Looks like Hills Hoists have adjustable heights. I've only ever seen similar things that are entirely fixed. Neat.

Ooh! Good choice. Yeah, roundabouts are great - they're finally starting to catch on over here in North America. Here in Ottawa, the city's been busy tearing out old light-controlled intersections to replace them with roundabouts. New roads get them pretty frequently, too.
Thanks, Britain!

Okay, Arclight, what the hell are you talking about? Well, we're from all over the world on this forum. I'd like to know a little bit more about everyone's countries. But I don't want to know the obvious stuff - I want to know the strange stuff. The interesting stuff. I'd like to know the weird litt...

Honestly, I prefer the ones where they're badly executed enough to make Alex tilt. Not because I want to see Alex tilt, but because it means he says smart things about game design and story-telling.

Re: CC - Aliens
Oh, also, there was some question in this episode as to why militaries don't use flamethrowers anymore. Well, the US military was using them up through the Vietnam War... which is also the era when wars became televised. And that's your answer - it's hard to look like the good guys on CNN when your ...

Re: Watch + Play
I think it comes down to the fact that if you want a plot or character arc, it needs to actually be an arc. You can't just have us meander through the game, then get to your meaningful conclusion. Because without the arc, it isn't meaningful. It's just badly written.

Re: CC - Aliens
Well, I do wonder if the USMC was considered "elite" in the filmmakers' context, as the film itself is clearly based on Vietnam-era US military tropes. As I understand it, during that war, the Marines were elite, at least compared to the US Army, as they were almost entirely a voluntary, p...

3) I thought the "pipe" was a reference to the atmospheric entry angle (5.5 degrees) so the ship wouldn't burn up but I'll admit I haven't done any research to see what the canonical version of the phrase is. "Five by five" is absolutely a reference to communications strength an...

Hello, all! If you're in the LRL chat, you've probably seen me. Finally decided to swing by the forums - how are we all doing? Anyway, so... me, huh? Let's see... I'm a 27 year old Canadian dude with a law degree. My first introduction to LRR was Desert Bus 1, and I've been in the DB chat literally ...
