Re: Steam Trading Card Trading Thread
Something I discovered through reddit, any game that can gain cards will do so by accumulating game time in that game. You literally don't have to do anything more than just open the game in steam and let it run in the background for a few hours while you do something else and you'll get all the car...

Re: Steam Trading Card Trading Thread
I think I've had about 3 Kerbal cards through my inventory, one of which I got for crafting the badge, which was interesting. Aren't they about $.15 on the marketplace?

Re: Steam Trading Card Trading Thread
I've actually managed to accumulate 65p in my steam wallet from leaving games running in the background to accumulate cards and then selling them, plus the extra bit I used to buy the other cards I needed. It probably defeats the point of the exercise, and I doubt I'll make any great fortune doing i...

Bards bards everywhere and not a drop to drink.
So for the past several years, I've had an idea, festering in the back of my head, for a campaign that I'd love to run. Its honestly not particularly fleshed out, and not having any GM experience I have no idea if it would even work, but the idea of it has amused me and if I get the chance, I'd love...

Clearly I've not been buying enough games this summer as I've only got 4 cards and no spares. I have, however, got a spare Stealth Cruiser and Slug Cruiser for FTL.

Re: Magic the Gathering: Ask a Judge
So here's a question that came up in the prerelease I attended, what exactly would happen if you used Clone on a Mutavault that had been turned into a creature? Would it turn into a land or would it cease to exist at the end of turn?
Likewise with something like Haunted Plate Mail.

Re: CURSE YOU STEEEEAAAAAAM!
As Steam likes to regularly corrupt itself at the drop of a hat, there's a remarkably simple way of smacking it upside the head and telling it to get its act together. Please note, as drastic as the following advice may seem, it does work and is recommended by Steam support as a solution for some mo...

Re: So that just happened (funny MTG stories)
As a student, I rarely have the money to keep up with standard, so rather than drafting with the main group of MTGers at uni, I tend to hang with the group who play casual vintage. About half the group are alumni, one of whom has been collecting hardcore for the at least 15 years, and has built nume...

So for the one year anniversary, Funcom has given away a bunch of keys to play for free for a week. Since I've been intrigued by the game since before it came out (big Ragnar fan, had to show some interest since it was delaying Dreamfall Chapters), I figured it would be a good chance to check the ga...

I thoroughly enjoyed playing it too, its really well built and despite the obvious parallels with Game Dev Story by Kairosoft, its very much a distinct game with more differences than similarities. I agree with you on the issues faced with cash flow around the 3 staff member mark. Even following the...

I'm really disappointed in you guys that Persona 4 hasn't had a mention yet! The perfect combination of social sim and dungeon crawler RPG, with brilliant gameplay, story and music. It is most certainly up there as one of the pinacles of gaming. And considering how linear the story line is, it has a...

No More Heroes has you traversing the world map on a motorcycle. Spitting Competition in Monkey Island 2, (insult) sword fighting in the whole MI series, and (insult) darts and arm wrestling in MI4. MI3 also had dueling banjos, dueling at 20 paces and the caber toss. There was fishing in Torchlight ...

I still enjoy the fact that the only thing that has been judge ruled as being faster than checking a state based action, or at least the fastest action that you can take, is the act of removing one's trousers.

I'd imagine that it works the same way that Snapcaster effects cards that already have flashback, it just adds a second flashback/scavenge cost, such that the player can choose which cost she wants to play.

Its also on Android. Either that or I had an incredibly vivid fever dream for the entirety of this past day. I'm definitely enjoying it, was a huge fan of snake back in the old Nokia days, and still pick it up every once in a while when I find a version I enjoy. My biggest gripe with it, however, is...

I know I'm a week late, but wanted to throw some additional weight behind the Dresden Files system. I think my best tabletop experience to date was playing with that system, especially with the world we were able to build with it. The whole building the world you're going to play in aspect of DF is ...

Honestly, I don't know where the 530 falls in the spectrum of cards, but for benchmarking/comparison, I find Tom's Hardware good for seeing how well things compare. Conveniently they just posted their best card for the money list a couple of days ago, so depending on how much money you're willing to...

Re: So that just happened (funny MTG stories)
Oh the shenanigans that result for 6+ player legacy planechase games. Genuinely some of the most hilariously entertaining things I've ever seen happen in magic has been in those games. Times where the game has entered a kind of stalemate because everyone has managed to accumulate ludicrous quantitie...

Re: MtG: Duels of the Planeswalkers online
Manalink is purely against AI, since multiplayer broke after they added the additional cards. The AI is fairly proficient, so provides a fair level of challenge, without being completely impossible to defeat. I should note, however, its not completely stable and certain formats do have a tendency to...

Re: MtG: Duels of the Planeswalkers online
I was introduced to paper magic by some of my friends at school, around 2003, played for a while, then stopped because I had no money and the other people who I played with sank ludicrous amounts of money into it, such that I simply couldn't keep up with it. DotP helped me get back into it now that ...

Currently reading The Belgaraid by David Eddings (on book 3 already). After I will be reading the Dreamers Series. I like David Eddings. But once I'm done those books, I'm not sure if I want to read Hitchiker's Guide, or Sara Douglass. If you're on a Eddings Bent, I'd highly recommend reading the E...

I thoroughly enjoyed it, and it was quite fun just sitting in bed playing it with my girlfriend, each helping overcome the other's blind spots!
