I have had similar thoughts. JUST wrecking Innistrad doesn't seem like something a white walker would do (And Nahiri is still white), but using Innistrad in exactly the way Zendikar was used, feels very red/white to me.
Although if I am honest, I'm still really hoping its not Emerkul

Re: The Magic Venting Thread
I've decided to stop paying membership at the store You have to pay "membership" what the hell? The membership is a flat £10 a month to play all I want in the store as opposed to £2 any day I'm in to play. Since I'm generally in twice a week, it's worth it, but with 2 events a month being...

Interesting, presumably this would also apply in more straight forward cases of Planewalkers like Gideon Ally of Zendikar who turn into creatures?

Getting into modern, need advice
Good day all, I'm thinking of trying to trade into Modern for the first time. After looking at different decks, specifically for decks where I already have a lot of the expensive pieces (that also look fun to play), I think want to put together G/B elves. I found a deck list I liked, and after makin...

Re: Magic the Gathering: Ask a Judge
Question about Erdwall Illuminator. So Erdwall Illuminator says
"Whenever you investigate for the first time each turn, investigate an additional time."
So if I have two of them in play, and I investigate, do I get two clues or three?

Re: Standard Discussion
So I am helping a friend get back into magic. I will be taking him to game day at the end of the month, he is going to try and build a deck but I don't think he will have time, and I promised I'd have a standard deck for him if he cant get one together. Now I have a spare deck he can use, but I want...

Re: Standard Discussion
Putting a deck together for game day and would love some feedback and sideboard suggestions. http://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/my-deck- ... at-itself/ It had Avacyn in it in an earlier draft, but she seemed to be bad for the deck. In play testing this deck almost always came off worse when she flipped....

Re: Magic the Gathering: Ask a Judge
If I have 8 cards in my hand and have to discard at the end of turn, and the card I discard has madness, can I cast it during my clean-up phase? I cant think of a reason I wouldn't but casting something during clean up feels weird.

Re: New to the Forum with an Old Cranky Vorthos' Complaint
I really like the direction the story has been taking. I have been playing since Invasion block (on and off) and this is the first time I have cared about the story at all. I think recurring characters are really important, and I like feeling invested in them. I will be very disappointed if Emerkul ...

Re: Magic the Gathering: Ask a Judge
I think the answer is no, but I feel like its worth asking. I have a Chandra, Fire of Kaladesh in play, and I ping someone, so she is now tapped. I cast a lightning axe, discarding fiery temper and untapping Chandra. Is there anyway to do this in a way where I ping again before I pay the madness cos...

Re: The Magic Venting Thread
He actually made a judge call because he thought he could gain or lose the life before the lose the game trigger, so he shouldn't be dead even though he was at 13 at the start of his upkeep. When the judge told him no, that's not how it works, he INSISTED the judge go check the gatherer rulings. Ju...

There is a guy who frequents the store I play at who drives me crazy. I swear this guy is salt made living. I have numerous stories about him, but I'll stick to just the one from today. We had 19 people for sealed today, which should of course be 5 rounds. there were a lot of people asking the TO to...

Re: Eldritch Moon
I just feel like its so obviously Emerkul that it cant possibly be Emerkul. this whole block seems to be about a mystery. And if the answer to the mystery is the most obvious possible answer then that seems kind of boring. At least to me. Emerkul showing up on Innistrad would be shocking to the char...

Re: SoI Prerelease - How'd You Do?
Went 4-0 at my first of three, with a sweet R/W build. http://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/rw-nahiri-2/ As you can see, I opened a Nahiri, and she was an all-star. Other spicy rares not in my deck included my promo, Prized Amalgam, and Choked Estuary. Overall, this seems like a very fun limited environme...

Re: So the crapshot got me thinking
Having different sleeves would clash with the purpose of having a hidden zone. A format that forces every game to be played using a marked deck is... ill-advised. All you would know is who the card belongs too, that is not very much information. Obviously that is more information than you get in a ...

Personal highlights include Graham and James simultaneously picking the O-ring, Serge's constant cheating (just kidding Serge...sort of <3), that scream from James in another room early on, and everyone secretly ...
