Re: Friday Nights - A Very Friday Night
This was so WELL SHOT! I am actually salivating at the cinematography. It's sort of embarrassing.

I missed the entirety of this year's desert bus, so I'm going through all the highlights in order whenever I get some free time. I just got to Alex's real-talk during his shift. WHY WAS I NOT WARNED OF THIS. The feels, man.

So I'd just be me, but really grainy and red. Or maybe a giant floating face that constantly looks vaguely disapproving.

Re: NaNoWriMo
After a big start in July, I've been tapping away at a novel, which has reached somewhere around 23,000 words as of now. Aiming for a finished novel around 100,000 words, so I'm definitely gonna be doing NaNo this year to really push myself through the middle section and into the third act. That's t...

Re: Books you're reading now
Currently wading through Gardens of the Moon by Steven Erikson, and I use "wading" in the best, most positive sense of the word. Enjoying piecing things together, and the plot ticks along at a good pace. This is the way I like world-building: not up-front, but filtered in through the chara...

Re: The Sex Thread 2: Because Two Hands Are Better Than One
Just to clarify: I don't find the current state (or non-state) of my sex life depressing or regrettable in any way. Just that, if it were to change for the better at some point, that'd by kinda cool.

Re: I know it has been awhile since I've been on the forums,
Just checked, and yeah, I joined way back in the halcyon days of May 2009. Yet my post count is orders of magnitude tinier than Michi's or Logic's. Geez. I really am hilariously inactive.

Hey, I can get behind that!

Well, good to know you. Tell me a little about yourself. I'm a 5"7' bearded person who likes to write stuff, read stuff and play tabletop games. I have never lost my English accent, despite spending more than half my life in Ireland. I also study Multimedia, mess around making music with a mod...

Re: I know it has been awhile since I've been on the forums,
Welcome back! Since four years ago, I've joined the forums. Least, I think it was in the last four years. Anyway yeah, you probably don't know me, even if I was around when you were around. Don't post as much as I'd like. In fact, I post so little that I feel like I need to re-introduce myself every...

That bit where Raleigh shouts "We'll do this! Together!", and Gypsy goes into a crouching position with the sword before launching itself forwards?

Re: Books you're reading now
Currently writing upwards of a thousand words per day (on the good days, anyway), which has put a bit of a damper on actually reading anything substantial, unfortunately. However, last time I checked, I was a good chunk into reading China Miéville's The Scar, and it was bleedin' excellent.

Currently rereading and immensely enjoying Scott Lynch's The Lies of Locke Lamora, then Red Seas Under Red Skies, in advance of the new one coming out in October. Love these books to death.

I think Count Zero is the best of the three :D Finished it. Oh man, SO GOOD. A very different beast to Neuromancer for definite. Didn't quite reach the heights of poetic hallucination that Neuromancer did, but man. What a book. Haven't been able to get my hands on MLO, but I've made a start on Virt...

I'm devouring William Gibson's Count Zero right now. Man, I love cyberpunk. Think I might try to get my hands on Mona Lisa Overdrive next, or maybe the short story collection he put together before Neuromancer, Burning Chrome.

Recently, while doing college work (final assignments ahoy!), I've been listening to lots of German dark jazz band Bohren & Der Club of Gore. Depressing as all hell, but really cool sound, and very non-intrusive and relaxing, which is great for when I'm working.

Bit late, but if this is your bag, add Kraken by China Mieville to your list. Been meaning to read that for a while now, and just more stuff by Miéville in general. That guy is a damn fine writer. Reminds me, I'm still reading Perdido Street Station as my "bed book". That is one hell of a...

Over the last week, I've realised that yes, I DO still have the capacity to procrastinate. I'd thought I'd kicked that habit, but I find myself putting things off for days at a time. Gotta fix that shit.
