Re: What did you recently eat/cook V2
I made spaghetti sauce (technically for spaghetti, but someone else cooked that). Sadly, I was serving pansies, so the amount of garlic I put in was less than the size of both my fists, like it normally would be. Garlic: great ingredient... or the greatest ingredient? Hmmm... banana-garlic-chicken-c...

I thought they talked about this in a podcast. At least, I thought I remembered something about crapshots in some podcast at some point somewhere. Quickly, someone go listen to all the podcasts from the last six months and back me up on this!

Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you Arnold Schwarzenegger: the man who just keeps reinventing himself. Ironically, he's living the American Dream more than most of us Americans. Keep living the dream, Arnie. Keep living the dream.

Re: What are your personal worst movies ever?
Date Movie. Alternately, Superhero Movie, since they are essentially the exact same movie. Those "movie" movies are all utter trash. It's like they took the lowest, least mature forms of humor possible and then degraded them. In some ways, they're actually masterpieces of awfulness.

Hey, I had been standing in line for ten hours, and all I'd had to eat was a pack of Skittles and two cookies in the shape of the Awesome Brothers that someone had made. That curry was too good to pass up.

I'm going to take issue with Super Awesome Brothers World there. See, not many people know this, but that game was actually released in Japan as Awesome Awesome Brothers Panic, and Awesometendosoft then they just reskinned it and released it in the US under a different name. It's still a pretty good...

Re: Transocean Gives Bonuses for Best Safety Year for Gulf Spill
Despite that, Transocean handed out huge bonuses to its executives citing the company's best year for safety ever. Who exactly is giving these bonuses to the execs? Wouldn't the people in charge of bonuses be the people in charge of the company? What's another name for that... oh right, executives!...

Frankly, I've never understood the advertising angle at all. I don't mind watching the ads (though some of them get unbelievably annoying after a while- I'm looking at you, Bing), but I also don't really pay attention to them. I've never felt the sudden urge to go buy a Slim Jim or and Alienware com...

Re: Movie clichés you think the world would be better without
I don't know if this really counts, but I'll throw it out there anyway: half-assed 3D (which is most of it). Most movies that they're putting in 3D nowadays are regular movies that look almost exactly the same as normal, except for that one scene (you know the one I'm talking about) where that big t...

This question can kinda go in two ways: 1) what's best for me, or 2) what's best for society. 1) Complete control over yourself. Not necessarily shapeshifting or invulnerability or such, just control over things like whether you're hungry, whether you're tired, whether you're happy, etc. No food? Th...

Actually, back on topic, writing about the gender norms in Katamari would make for an interesting paper.

Re: Sexuality in gaming
To clarify, being in good shape is definitely correlated with being mentally healthy (though not causatively). People who are in good shape mentally (ignoring how difficult something like that is to measure) are more likely to understand how necessary being in good shape physically is to leading a h...

I think you're wrong. It's not accepted. It may not have as much backlash, but it's just as frowned upon. Also note that while the 'female fantasy' can be unhealthy (though not necessarily), the 'male fantasy' is instead usually a body type that would be quite healthy (barring fully roided-out type...

One time, I made a broccoli and cheese quiche... and it was delicious. But I decided that it needed more salt. The next time I made a quiche, instead of putting in three teaspoons of salt, I decided to go for three tablespoons. It... did not turn out well. I was dedicated to that sucker, though, so ...

What do you they call chocolate chip cookies across the pond, then?
And sour cream and onion "crisps" are pretty awesome.

Re: Mass Effect 3 (Also Mass Effect General I suppose?)
Arrival seems weird to me (haven't played it yet, but I've read some things). It's basically Bioware's way of saying, "Ok, we got off track from the actual plot in ME2, so here's some DLC to remind you what's really going on here." Can anyone who's played Arrival comment on that?

The single best part of the whole Valve vs. Mojang thread is the Forum-Anger-O-Matic. It nicely catalogs the progression of the contest- that is, the point at which Notch posted about the contest on Twitter, Mojang started winning, and the forum exploded into a fire fueled by the angry tears of doze...
