Re: General LRL Stream Feedback

Ah, well, see previous note re: Me not being a graphics person. :B

Still, and I may be the only one who feels this way, there's something about the blue box that nags my eyes a bit.

Re: General LRL Stream Feedback

I like the idea of the new sub notifier, but it does look a little odd. I think it's because the blue part has a gradient, while the orange is flat. Maybe make the blue flat?

But I'm not graphic designer, so I dunno.

Re: GPLP next game thread

The problem with Reccatear is that it's very dialogue-heavy, which is bad for streaming.

Re: General LRL Stream Feedback

I just want to say, the AC isnt as bad as you guys think it is. Maybe it sounds worse to you guys, but to the viewers its just a soft background white noise. Sure the stream is better without it, but its like 2-3% better, its not like when its on the stream is borderline unwatchable. It doesnt cove...

Well, for "Wait, what?" game news there's this: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/f ... =287164593

Super 3D Noah's Ark, a game built using the Wolfenstein 3D engine to be a "Christian" alternative to the violent Nazi-killer is now on Steam Greenlight.

Re: Watch + Play

If the taffy-corpse effect had been intended I would've loved it. It would be a legitimately unsettling way for corpses to behave. But it so clearly wasn't... Also, apparently A New Reckoning's serviceable parts were all taken directly from the engine's sample game, which explains why the maps were ...

Re: IDDQDerp

*Quick summary of video compression: You have "key" and "delta" (or something like that, I don't recall the exact terms) frames. A key frame is a complete frame, like what you'd get on a film strip. A delta frame is simply a list of differences between it and the key frame. In a...

Re: IDDQDerp

Posted these links in the chat during stream today, but figured they'd make sense here, as well. The Alice in Wonderland stories are old enough that they're now in the public domain world-wide, so Project Gutenberg has copies of them. If anyone is curious about the stories that the game Alex is play...

Re: IDDQDerp

Is it just me, or did the Twitch stream not really handle the high-res graphics in the Stalker games very gracefully last Friday? It's kind of a shame that the pretty graphics just kind of jpeg-out whenever Alex moved or turned to look at something. :( Video compression in general will lead to such...

Re: IDDQDerp nextplay poll ROUND 6

Assuming I've understood how this thread works, I've gotta vote for Zeno Clash. ACE Team games aren't always mechanically great, but they are visual masterpieces, and Zeno Clash is just this wonderful blend of delightfully weird imagery.

Re: IDDQDerp

Alex mentioned today that he likes playing games about becoming a pretty princess, so I have to recommend Long Live the Queen . It's a game entirely about becoming a pretty princess...while repeatedly dying because you failed to study enough accounting last month. I don't know how good it'd be to st...

Re: Kathleen Saves the World

So, I'm watching through Kathleen's run on SMT: Nocturne*, and an incidental comment caught my attention: Kathleen says that part of the reason she hasn't tried the Etrian Odyssey titles is their generic fantasy setting. Well, I have good(ish) news! None of the EO titles are actually set in ...

Re: Let's NOPE pre-voting

Might I suggest Knock-Knock? It's by Ice-Pick Lodge, who made The Void, Cargo: The Quest for Gravity, and Pathologic. Actually, The Void might not be a bad choice either.

It's...very weird, but also incredibly creepy. I can't get through more than a few minutes of it, to be honest. >>
