Re: X Ways to Y:The Thread

Breathe directly into a tree cracked me up! There's something about the absolute lack of logic involved that just makes it completely hilarious to me. I really like when the ways miss the point completely. I also really liked use less fuel; I have no clue why, but I was picturing Paul and Matt doing...

Re: Official Unskippable Suggestion Thread.

I had a toooon of fun mocking the dialogue in enchantedARM or however it's punctuated. I'd love to see Graham and Paul's take on that one!

Re: GMing tips?

GM whilst suspended upside down and getting out of a straight jacket. should make things more interesting by default. that or add in jetpacks ...That is one thing to do. What about playing in a spaceship orbiting the Earth? Same great "not on the ground" feeling, half the blood rushes. An...

Yeeeah, then sorry, Fayili beat you to the punch. She got me some years ago irl. I can see what I can do about acquiring you a panda though; they're adorable and EVERYONE should own at least one panda soul.

Re: GMing tips?

Ah, thank you, Bergie! Would you mind expanding some on what you mean by strengths and weaknesses? Are you talking more about character traits or the dice-rolly skill number type strengths/weaknesses? (I mean, ideally, those overlap a fair amount, but there is still some difference between the numbe...

Re: Books you're reading now

For the nonfiction crowd, I'm currently reading and loving John McWhorter's What Language Is (and What It Isn't and What It Could Be). It's a fantastic book on how to think about language like linguists do, or, as he puts it, "from underwater." In the same way we would expect to learn abou...

GMing tips?

Howdy! So, this summer, I am GMing for the first time in my life. I've done lots and lots of tabletop roleplaying, but I've never held the reins before. I was wondering if anyone out there had some tips for how to run a campaign right? For reference: I'm leading a game of Mouse Guard, which for thos...

Re: Introduce yourselves! (A friendly topic for new members)

Just made an account (to comment on the latest Strip Search, though I've been watching LRR and its other spin offs for years). I think I used to have a different account—my computer remembers one but I'm not sure I do? In any case, hi! Call me JC, please. A little bit about me: I'm a history major i...
