Re: TTC - The TTC Sideboard Hour

Was it the Enclave Cryptologist you were pairing with the Sea Gate Oracle? I'm really enamored with that idea now. I hope we get a follow-up card with them meeting up for coffee in Ravnica.

Re: TTC - Theros Impressions

Regarding Floodbringer: at the time it was printed mana burn was still a thing, so floating mana was not as trivial a decision. Also, returning a land to hand can be extraordinarily powerful with the right land, like a Cabal Coffers. In the context of Betrayers draft you could use it with Tendo Ice ...

Re: TTC - Theros Flavour & Origins

Purphoros as the Hephaestus analog is a really good pick for red. In Rome he was known as Vulcan and is the root for volcano, which is very in flavor for red.

Thanks very much for this! It was a great cast.

Re: LRRcast for 2013-06-14

I was really excited to write a legit elevator pitch for a Star Trek movie, but funny is hard! Still, may as well give it a go: James Kirk is the captain of the Enterprise Space Olympics team, but he gets benched when his friend Spock informs Coach Pike about his rule-breaking punch-running and lava...

Re: TTC - GP Portland

Since it came up, one reason instant Infiltrate could be good is to target your opponent's creature with a lure ability. Lure gets through and you can block their other stuff. Not amazing but occasionally useful.

Re: RETURN OF THE PODCAST(S) + AskLRR Thread.

Yay lrrcast is back :) With the new ravnica decks added to duels of the planeswalkers, what're your favorite decks now in that game? Also, if Kathleen is there, I'm incredibly curious to hear your impressions for persona 4 golden. Finally, with the positive experience with strip search and Friday ni...

Re: Desert Bus 6 Appreciation Thread

Thank you very much for an amazing week. This was my first year watching and catching clips after the fact on youtube was just not the same as seeing it live. Just an incredible event. Thank you very much for looking at my challenge. I'll try to come up with something more reasonable next year! :) E...

Re: Unofficial Desert Bus Challenges Conversation Thread OF

How do the big crowd-sourced challenges work? I wrote out the script with stage notes for the Hiimdaisy Persona 4 parody and I'd really like the crew to perform some / all of the scenes. I'd personally donate a lot if they'd do it, and I submitted it as a challenge, but I'm curious how I would go ab...

Re: Loading Time - GP Vancouver

Congratulations to Jer! How was the draft on day 2? I know for me the first time I made it past a cut it was so stressful just thinking 'oh god never gonna make it again. don't screw this up!' :) GPs are so much fun. Building a sealed deck is pretty relaxed compared to drafting and constructed. It w...

Re: GPLP Suggestions

The remake of Fatal Frame is coming out for the Wii soon. Graham occasionally mentions wanting more reasons to use that system. :) You could have Matt as the special guest host. Also, they did that great ad for it where instead of showing the game they showed the reactions of two people playing the ...

Thank you very much for answering my questions, Paul. I really appreciated your response to my writing question especially. I've jotted down your suggested conversation topics. I hope I get the chance to use them. :) I probably should have elaborated more about my third question. I wasn't asking as ...

I'm very much looking forward to this. I was sad I didn't get to meet you at PAX East with so many of the rest of the crew, Paul. I'm not sure if you meant this thread for questions, or just the forum in general closer to the time of the event, but I'll post now just in case. :) 1. Since I'm bad at ...

Re: Ep. 50 - There is no bubble

I have to admit, the trampling my dreams line made me think of the Yeats poem and, by extension, Equilibrium. Where was the epic gun-kata battle? ;)
