Re: Commander/EDH Deck Talk
If you're looking to save your stuff from things like Vandalblast... You already have the Darksteel Forge to help you out. Boros Charm, Break of Day, Rootborn Defenses, and Withstand Death offer temporary solutions. Consecrate Land and Terra Eternal keep your lands safe (if you've got any of the ar...

Re: Error Cards
most minor printer errors (similar to those you've shown) are only a couple bucks a piece, and can be difficult to find collectors for. it's when you start getting into repeated, limited run printing errors (blanks, massive fades, and picture to game text mismatches, bad miscuts, etc) that value sta...

In mono red Ash Zealot is about the best 2 drop you'll find.
Burning trees only have a home now in R/G monsters and mono-red devotion (possibly something more if xenegos in jund becomes popular).

Re: Where do I (re)start?
WalMart, Target, and several other box stores received a very limited number of the first shipped wave. Target had them at like 35, while WalMart marked them up into crazy land 45-50ish each. That being said, those stores will not be receiving later shipments and waves of this product. The first wav...

It is entirely possible that the lesser gods do not use the devotion mechanic at all.
Until we see one of them spoiled I am hesitant to speculate.

Re: Where do I (re)start?
Before you go picking up anything you should probably check to see if there are any additional cards banned at the places you will be playing locally, on top of the official banlist. Since Commander is a more casual format, some places you play might have additional cards banned (Kokusho banned peri...

Re: Where do I (re)start?
While The Commander13 decks can be an okay place to start, they might not all fit into your playstyle (or colours). I will say that depending where you play there are varying levels of competitiveness. Some places might not allow infinite combos, or have extended banlists above and beyond the classi...

(Also, out of curiosity, what's your pick in that pack?) Merchant, unless I have no lash the whips in which case I would take the gorgon. Gorgon functions as a 2 for 1 with the monstrous and the deathtouch. The overlord does the least against you (possibly not even seeing play by someone else that ...

Re: Age of Wushu?
I looked at a few reviews and I'm getting a little wary. I saw something about f2p accounts only being allowed one hour of play a day. Nope, absolutely incorrect. I have played it far too much this week. Also, some of the reviews are saying the menus and skill systems are needlessly complex. Mostly...

So I just saw an advertisement for this on TV, which at least means its getting decent funding, but is anyone going to give it a try? I admit that I have some reservations about it, particularly their microtransaction model as it relates to vendor stalls, but w/e, worth a shot. If I don't like the g...

This is their format child. Their format child is stillborn if it's not a reasonable format. Their reasoning behind modern was: i) card availability -- competitive legacy is simply not fiscally viable for 95% of the player base ii) card volatility -- standard is both expensive, and rapidly loses va...

Speaking of I'm convinced we will see a return of fetchlands in the next two years. just saying... If modern is supposed to be an actual, viable format and not just a wotc cash grab reprinting fetches will practically be a requirement. Say hello to "modern masters II" some time down the r...

What sort of instants or spells could I use if the opponent's creature has not yet resolved? The stack also matters for using activated abilities, and manipulating the effect of certain triggers like enters play abilities. Super long example: You are at 2 life. You have a prodigal sorceror on the t...

I'm thinking of restarting to play Magic, and specifically, of buying a box. What expansion would you recommend? I think Innistrad looks cooler than RTR or Gatecrash, but then again Innistrad is already getting old-ish... Have fun getting Innistrad at a reasonable price now anyways. Box prices have...

In terms of generalities, Stromkirk nobles are relatively cheap and an amazing upgrade.
Volcanic Strengths are cheap and will hit most of the time too.
