Re: Graham and Paul Let's Play

Figured I'd share this in the forums. It's sized the same as actual DS cover art, so be warned.

I didn't have time to font-match the Metal Gear Solid logo, but I did make sure to add miniature sombreros to the gameplay previews :)

Re: Venting Thread Delta - Now With Easy to Follow Rules

From my experience, people are rarely stupid, often uninformed/uneducated, and (now that we live in an age where they are able to) far too keen to offer their opinion where none is due. However, this is still a right they deserve, so I generally worry more about correcting the second point- the thi...

*Looks at news feed*
*Faith in humanity takes another hit it can't afford*

In all seriousness, I'm getting really fed up with the the general stupidity of the human race. I've never been particularly tolerant of the general public, but it seems to be getting worse as I get older.

Re: Graham and Paul Let's Play

Hideo Kojima and Platinum Games are a match made in heaven. Kojima has stated that he won't accept any developer besides Platinum if they make a sequel to Revengence. I can't really blame him, Platinum are still the best at over-the-top action. Between this and Nintendo's interest in Platinum (Wond...

Re: The File

Work in IT, or any form of customer services, and you'll quickly fine it's not just an issue with the internet. I was under the assumption that my high school job doing customer service at a hardware store exposed me to the worst humanity had to offer. Turns out I simply underestimated the "co...

If only he'd applied the slightest amount of critical thinking to the situation, he would've noticed that it didn't add up. Apparently that's too much to ask from the internet :)

Re: The File

It's really comical how misinformed people can be. It was brought up a lot during the Kickstarter, but some people don't absorb information very well. I'm sure having to repeat the phrase "We aren't going anywhere" got old after the 20th time ;)

Re: Venting Thread Delta - Now With Easy to Follow Rules

I have the free version and I've not seen it. Maybe not yet, maybe I won't at all. Do you have your info and update pop ups turned on? Mine are off and that might be the difference. This morning I scoured every option screen Avast has and turned off everything that remotely looked like a notificati...

See all these people crowding in the lobby? We HAVE reservations, and we're waiting . And yet you react with shock, surprise and SCORN ?!? And if this just happened once in the half-hour we waited there, I wouldn't mind so much, but I don't think two minutes would pass before some other grou...

Re: Graham and Paul Let's Play

Gonna level with you all, I mayyyyyy have thought this game was a little more mindless in its gameplay than possibly it actually is. If one thing can describe Platinum games, mindless isn't it. Bayonetta, Vanquish, and Revengence are all beatable using normal hack-n-slash/TPS instincts, but they're...

Re: Graham and Paul Let's Play

Monsoon should be a pretty interesting fight if they haven't gotten the hang of parrying. Presumably the chat will step in if the fight lasts more than 20 minutes and Graham is reduced to a quivering wreck because he can't lay a finger on the boss  A big list can be intimidating. Point taken, ...

Re: Graham and Paul Let's Play

Believe me, everything I mentioned is important for a single playthrough on normal. If you're on easy you can ignore some of it, but the difficulty really ramps up if you aren't prepared. Getting curb-stomped because you never learned the mechanics properly isn't very fun (personal experience). If y...

Re: Graham and Paul Let's Play

Here are a few tips that might help you play Revengence more efficiently. 1) Remember To Lock On: You spent most of the Mistral fight unlocked, and it made it more difficult to properly block and counter. Having the camera held in place really helps. With normal enemies it's not as bad, but locking ...

...You know what I just realized? I'm actually kind of sad there was no interaction with Ashley in this game. Like, she was a huge part of RE4, and I thought she was a good character. Being able to get her reaction that her father is dead and that Leon 'technically' killed him would have been an in...

Re: GPLP next game thread

Binary Domain. It really didn't get the appreciation it deserved when it came out I completely agree. While not quite as polished as Vanquish or Spec Ops, it was one of the few cover-based shooters that didn't feel like a complete slog (i.e. Gears of War). The story could be a bit overwrought at ti...

Re: Math of the Montage

It was ALL abstract math. The professor I had wasn't particularly good, and he gave us almost no context for what we were learning. The graduate program was geared towards nano-scale materials, and I still have no idea how his lectures could be applied to my practical research. It ended up being a m...

As much as I like that style of game, there really isn't enough in a Dynasty Warriors game to really carry a stream. Once you get past the dialog (extra ham) and the hair metal soundtrack, there really isn't much to joke about...

Re: GPLP next game thread

I'll second Metal Gear Rising: Revengence and Guacamelee. Both are short, fun, and have some unique elements. Revengence's over-the-top gameplay/story and Guacamelee's co-op (and art direction) should make for an interesting stream. Ripping into bad games is fun, but B:TS was getting really frustrat...

When the game's plot plays the "insane space Russians microwave San Francisco from orbit" card in the opening cutscene, then you know it's ripe for comedy.
