Re: Commander/EDH Deck Talk
How to do a Shu Yun deck: Prowess, prowess, tokens. Beyond that, probably good to include the jeskai ascendency combo, just because it works, and each of the pieces, save for the 0 mana artifacts you use to trigger it, are also hella useful. There aren't that many Prowess creatures, which is why I r...

Re: Magic the Gathering: Ask a Judge
I was just wondering how many different creatures could be equipped with different versions of themselves. The answer is currently 28 . 27, actually, because I forgot that Ob Nixilis is both on the "two different legendary creature cards" camp and the "legendary creature and planeswal...

Is there any effects in the whole of magic that remove the creature type? I just want to know if I can equip Niv-Mizzet with Niv-mizzet, or if that is just a dumb dream.

Everytime this question is asked, a new crop of level 1 judges cry, and they don't know why.

Plus, going allies makes you less likely to be the first attacked. Slivers are feared for good reason, but in a multiplayer, you may be seen as a less high ranking enemy.

So I just made an Ephara aggro deck. It mostly just voltron's out, but I can see that it could also do some other stuff. I'm interested to know everyone else's take on it.

Manifest also works with cards like Master of Pearls and Kheru spellsnatcher, if you can keep them on top of your library.

I guess I'll weigh in. I'm kind of a newer fan, so I'm sorry if this is weighted toward the end. I'll put these in no particular order, to save myself trouble What's going on? - My friend used to not like LRR, then I showed him Rapidfire series 3, and he loved it, especially the dave's ad guy. Re: The General Magic: The Gathering Thread
The Modern version seems pretty slow against the current metagame. I'd focus on having a lot more cantrips to trigger the Skulker instead of the creature-based engine (which doesn't have enough ETB effects or a toolbox to really abuse Pod). Perhaps something like: 3 Chasm Skulker 4 Lotus Cobra (...

I know the rumbles are non-canon, but when did Matt get inducted back into the snuggie cultists? He left after Meghubota had claimed him, and was replaced by Cam.

Ooh, good one. :) THE best one for this is Mentor of the Meek, which I have in there, but if I don't get him, it burns out its hand fast. Since you're playing Teeg, I'd recommend Soul of the Harvest. He can get out a lot of cards, he's outside most burn range, and he kind of covers your top end nic...

Re: The General Magic: The Gathering Thread
Swordwise Centaur seems like a good replacement for the tusker, because it's only one less toughness, but gives the same devotion. As for the giant growth, if you're putting a lot of cards in your bin, maybe become immense? Otherwise, I think titanic growth got reprinted... Or there's gather courage...

Regarding questions on how Matt was able to be understood by Mr. Hedere and Senor Philips, I have a theory: Matt is actually playing a norse god. He speaks english normally, but when he asks for a new thing, like klingon, swedish chef, or says he doesn't have a car, he says it in the alltongue, so t...

Re: Magic the Gathering: Ask a Judge
Not a judge, but I think that you would keep the bestow creatures. It makes sense, you still control the auras when the creature they are attached to dies. It's kind of like putting one of the journey bestows on an opponents creature, you keep it then. Plus, no one is going to dispute that you contr...

There's a new equipment from C14 that prevents the equipped creature from swinging at you. I'm sure there are a couple of other cards like that too, such as auras, and you could run them, put them on Karona, stop people from swinging at you

I'm actually going to suggest something a bit out of left field: Riku, of two reflections. He lets you copy creatures, and gives you access to blue and red to protect your creatures.

Re: Epic Struggle
I suggest Sprout Swarm. If you have enough token generation, such as with parallel lives, doubling season and I think there's something else that doubles creature tokens, it can go infinite. Also, if you're running squirrel nest, you might as well run earthcraft.

Re: The General Magic: The Gathering Thread
To be more specific I'm looking for white cards that only cast for white and no colorless. I want to see if I can maximize devotion output for my Brimaz commander deck as well as abuse light from within. Well, hybrid mana won't help you here, because color identity, but other than that, I'd just se...
