Swordwise Centaur seems like a good replacement for the tusker, because it's only one less toughness, but gives the same devotion. I'm actually going to suggest something a bit out of left field: Riku, of two reflections. He lets you copy creatures, and gives you access to blue and red to protect your creatures.

I suggest Sprout Swarm. If you have enough token generation, such as with parallel lives, doubling season and I think there's something else that doubles creature tokens, it can go infinite. Also, if you're running squirrel nest, you might as well run earthcraft.
