If somebody casts something in response to the ETB ability triggering, which then destroys the creature with the ETB ability, does the ability still resolve?
If so, why?

I wrote an actual essay with LoadingReadyRun in it
This is going to be hilarious, or embarrassing, or somewhat heart-warming. Who knows? So one of the subjects I've been studying at uni is called Digital Cultures. It has absolutely no relevance to my archaeology degree, but I find it generally fascinating enough to continue studying it on the side, ...

Re: So that just happened (funny MTG stories)
Last week, I went to a Theros draft at my local GoodGames with my friends. Nothing particularly special, except that there were 10 people in this draft. Once again, I found myself drafting Black/White out of a continuing desire to make a Black Devotion deck inspired by LoadingReadyRun's own terrible...

Re: The end of PATV and PAR. Is this the end of CheckPoint?
Wow, I, uh... if the worst case scenario happens, i.e. both Extra Credits and CheckPoint are forced to stop making episodes due to financial issues (for example, that they are no longer getting paid for it), I will actually not know what to do. They're my last ports of call in terms of thinking abou...

... I'll stick to the mild sauce, thanks. No, I don't care if that's wimpy. :P I like how this video was written by and starring pretty much all of LoadingReadyRun's craziest. It definitely showed. Amusing story: We have hot sauce in various strengths where I work, and so we occasionally have the so...

Re: Poképroblem
I think the problem with internet videos about Pokémon is that there's too many of them, and while I like both Pokémon AND LoadingReadyRun, this missed the mark for me for that reason. I mean, it was adequate I suppose, but I know that you guys can do a lot better and more original sketches than thi...

Re: Internet Opinions
I guess Graham's character was more subtly annoying - presented in an "I'm always right, everyone else is stupid", elitist kind of way. Maybe. Just my opinion. Not like it matters anyway.

Sadly, I have gone to a fancy dress party as a black-and-white ministrel before. The theme was essentially "Offensive stereotypes", and my mum really likes playing dress-up, so... she essentially went all-out with her ideas, and I kind of just went along with it. It wasn't exactly my fines...

I've just realized, I'm writing an essay in which I can include examples from LRR (and boy, do I plan to), and this video is a perfect example of a great point that I can make.
Thanks, LRR. How did you know?

Re: Murdercide
Good catch on the Killmonger credits though. That's not necessarily the series Mr. Tiddlywinks is from, but why the hell not? I assumed that it was because putting Lisette in the credits is very specific because she hasn't been in a video for years, and of the videos she was in, Ways to Get Killed ...

Nanosauromo breaks it down wonderfully, for anyone needing a fix of nerdy references and in-jokes. :D I just want to add that I loved the AXE-HAND reference, doubly so for the tagline. And equally loved Missie appearing as a cameo to call back to Toothy Smile. Hey, if you have Missie around, you mig...

It was like Questionably Legal Man, but morally unambiguous and actually helpful! Such is the power of the Cellphone! :D (How did you make Paul's superhero costume? Are there places that sell T-shirts with random retro technology prints on them?) And then MISSIE. Just out of nowhere. I was like &quo...

Re: Enlightenment Gear
It's difficult to explain how I feel about this one. I'll start by saying that I don't dislike it. The concept was fairly funny in itself, and well-executed, but the overall potential for actual laughs was never that great. It's alright, it's just not memorable. I'm likely to forget about it less th...

Charmander learns Dragon Rage at Lv 16? Why the hell did I pick Squirtle?! :P I mean, I was facing an Axew, and my Level 27 Pokemon had trouble vs. Dragon Rage. Only Azumarill could survive more than 2 hits. The difficulty curve is a little easier this time around, but to be honest I prefer it that ...

For me the time from the start of the game to the game being perfect was either 0.3 seconds or 20 seconds, depending on whether you count the character creation screen. A+, Would Travel The Length of Kalos to Hear That BGM Again. Also, solid character customisation. (I went with the Grass-type start...

FWIW, I did feel kinda relaxed from the those parts of the live broadcast that were working as intended. ^_^ I feel like after everybody was praising Curtis for his voice last week, Graham felt the need to reassert himself as the One True deep voice. Well it worked. Wow. And Random Dude on The Esca...

Re: The Story of Beej
When I see the Beej-ified opening credits, I don't imagine the names being said aloud. Because when they're different names, it feels more like a list. With Beej, it feels more like an obsession. Which is why, when I see "BEEJ, BEEJ, BEEJ" coming up on the screen over and over again, in my...

Re: Holidays, Pants and Problems
According to the Escapist forums, Curtis Arnott is also known around the internet as Takahata101, and does voice acting for Dragon Ball Z Abridged. So that's neat. What I found nice was how he and Ash had almost exactly the same matter-of-fact sense of humour about the stories. It worked really well...
