Re: Tom Clancy RIP
The Hunt for Red October is one of my favorite books and holds up in its own way over time. He was never as good after the Soviets weren't evil or didn't exist, but when the Soviets were evil ... wow, he wrote some good stuff.

Re: The Loading Ready Run Kickstarter
They dealt/are dealing with Khoo directly on a regular basis for StripSearch and the ENN/Checkpoint series so it makes the most sense for him to call out the Kickstarter to his followers. He has a pretty close relationship with LRR. The Shut Up and Sit Down guys on PATV are doing a crowdfunding camp...

Re: The Loading Ready Run Kickstarter
At this point it really depends on how well they can push the marketing on this. Jerry officially Kickfathering it on Penny Arcade could easily push the total way beyond the planned stretch goals in a single weekend, for instance. Well, yes. When one makes projections, it requires projecting based ...

Re: The Loading Ready Run Kickstarter
I'm a bit excited to see what they can do with James more part-time. I'm getting a little concerned they will not hit the sexy LRR calendar, but I think they're going to be good for a double dose of Crapshots. These things tend to take a life of their own, though, so who knows if they pull off all t...

Re: The Loading Ready Run Kickstarter
Have they addressed numbering on the Kickstarter Creepy Dolls? I was fortunate enough to purchase one of Tally's first run of Creepy Dolls that were available on the LRR store. Those 30-ish Dolls were numbered limited edition versions. If Tally uses the same design as the previous dolls, the limited...

I think they'll get a backer for this tier by the end, but if not, putting a few pieces of Rejected Wii Shirt in every Creepy Doll is a great idea. An in-joke in more than one sense of the word.

The ready-to-cook mashed potatoes? Okay, they're a ways off...directly across the aisle in a refrigerated case opposite the chicken display with cold chickens (and more baskets of buns and cupcakes) and a brightly-coloured, five-foot-high and three-foot-wide sign calling attention to the deal. :rol...

Re: The Loading Ready Run Kickstarter
One more year of LRR! Woo! I'm sure it'll be a good one. Also, AlexanderDitto's suggestion of a Things on my Head video is fantastic! I completely forgot about it. 17,000 followers is a whole lot of followers and seeing as how it's a stretch goal it is DIRECTLY related to that Youtube channel.

Re: The Loading Ready Run Kickstarter
Here's my take on promotion. First off, I agree with Mara Kalat that I wouldn't want to be spammed about their Kickstarter 10 times a day for 30 straight days. That's more likely to get people to unfollow you than drive them to the Kickstarter, in my opinion. The key to remember is that each promo m...

I ... I just ... sigh. As I've stated numerous times before, I'm a statistician by trade. That graph. It's just. I can't. Ugh. That's just so so wrong on so many levels. It makes my brain hurt so bad. Please pretend it doesn't exist. Sometimes some information is worse than no information. This is o...

Re: The Loading Ready Run Kickstarter
I think it would be more in the theme of the site to secretly bury them in the desert. This would certainly make a good brief cutaway gag in a cHustle video. "Remember what we had to do with the Rejected Wii Play shirts?" It should be too difficult to get your hands on an E.T. cartridge wh...

Re: The Loading Ready Run Kickstarter
Wow. A Gibb, Story Guy, Head of Evil Inc, or 64K personal voicemail message tier? Seems like a good deal to me. LRRCast appearance, call-in or shout out in a high tier?

Re: The Loading Ready Run Kickstarter
Do we get a tearful Emmy-Award speech when you make your goal? "You like me! You really like me!" That first day must have been one of the more nerve-wracking moments of LRR. I mean, you know it will go well. It has to go well. Of course it will be fine. Right? I mean, it should. Know what...

Re: The Loading Ready Run Kickstarter
So what are the bets going down now for final total? My thinking is, "what's the highest you possibly think it could go? Now add 50%." I'll say $315,675. I wouldn't be surprised if it's higher. I will be surprised if it finishes under $150,000.

Re: The Loading Ready Run Kickstarter
Ah, the infamous dropping of after the huge start. Don't worry, it will keep going on slowly. I've heard most kickstarters also have a peak at the end, so here's hoping. And a lot depends on the PR it gets. If they get a shout out from PA, for instance, they could bring in a huge single spike. This...

Re: The Loading Ready Run Kickstarter
I find it highly amusing that the cost of paying Bradley to write new music for Season 1 would probably exceed the entire budget of filming Season 1. I've seen some of Season 1 and ... uh ... I don't know if people should be so excited. It isn't only licensing agreements that have kept it from publi...

Re: The Loading Ready Run Kickstarter
If they get enough money with the Kickstarter (I'm looking at you Last 3 Days of the Kickstarter!), I wonder if they could bring everyone on full-time. I wonder if they would all even want to be full-time. We have had the internet for a long time. Why have we only had Kickstarter for such a short ti...

Re: The Loading Ready Run Kickstarter
I was busy this weekend and missed all of the news! I think we all pretty much knew the weekly sketch comedy was coming to an end sooner than later. What I didn't anticipate was a way to community fund another year! What a fantastic idea from the LRR folks! While I'm sad to see LRR closing its doors...

Clearly an honest apology written by Mike's own hand and shows he has, to some extent, learned that he hurt people. He also stands by his right to say what he wants to say and how he says it. It's about as good as it can be while still being completely truthful. 2stepz, I understand what you're sayi...

Re: Penny Arcade and 'The Mike Problem'
Jimor pretty much summed up my thoughts on the topic. There are many artists that consider any limitation on speech to be censorship and an attack on the very core of what they do. When Daniel Tosh was run through the ringer after making a blatantly insensitve rape joke earlier this year, it sparked...
