Re: Loading Ready Fan Draft.
http://imgur.com/9XjffzE Well. That went alright. Pack 1 Pick 1 was Master of the Feast, so I leant heavily toward a black aggressive strategy. Picked the swiftclaw second from a weak pack, then got a Boar and it all fell into place after that. The Hoplites all came from three packs that had the sam...

Re: Loading Ready Fan Draft.
Well, as every good Magic player knows, one bad hand doesn't mean the deck can't work. Unfortunately I'm not free next Saturday at all, but there's nothing stopping people from showing up for early drafts.
As for today, I'll probably be around most of the day if we can get a group together.

Re: Loading Ready Fan Draft.
http://imgur.com/6ZaQC2Y Horrendous draft seemed to go in every direction (see sideboard), proud of what I managed to pull out of it. Ran as intended in R1; Mulled to 5 more games than not for the rest of the tournament (including my only game-win after R1) and rarely drew more than two 1- or 2-drop...

Re: Loading Ready Fan Draft.
So, we narrowly failed to fire today (~4 hours ago).
Not counting the six who were there (but then two had to leave and one joined the wrong pod on accident), is there still interest in the earlier timeslot? Anyone maybe, who can usually make it but couldn't today, or just forgot which week it was?

The 2nd/4th timing has a much higher chance of working for me, if that happens next week it's even odds I'll be in.

Re: LRRMtG
Hey guys, we played last night, it was fun. I had the stream closed and the chat hidden so I didn't catch until now that you were concerned I might have been reading the chat. For the record, I had the chat window shrunk so that only the text box was visible. Ironically, that's why I didn't quit cha...

Re: TTC - Hands-On with Journey Into Nyx
That's fair, comparing it to a creature made my meaning unclear, and also brings up good counterexamples in this block. I only mean that the extra one mana you have to pay in advance will not inconvenience you enough to make the card bad. Layaway Centaur was the best recent example I could think of ...

You guys are nuts, the green Font is very good. Props to Kathleen for coming around on it. Rampant growth that lets you hold up your combat tricks in the combat-trick set? Sign me up! Think back to RTR, how hard was it to play the Layaway Centaur (Centaur's Herald)? Trick question, it was never hard...

Re: IDDQDerp
You can be in just one of the nine covenants at a given time. You get in simply by talking to that covenant's specific NPC and asking. The TL;DR version is in italics at the bottom. It's technically a 'sin' to switch covenants without talking to a certain NPC, but this is not really relevant. There ...

The difference between Demon's Souls and Dark Souls? I can solve that mystery for you. Improvements to Dark Souls over Demon's Souls - Estus > Grass - Bonfires > Nexus - Bottomless Box > Stockpile Thomas - No general item encumbrance - Open level design - More NPCs - More bosses - Higher average bos...

My favourite beginner's tip
You know that Winged Spear you found in the graveyard by Firelink Shrine? It's an excellent beginner weapon. You'll need to level up a touch to use it (13 STR, 15 DEX) and the DPS is not great. However, it allows you to attack with your shield still up , which is perfect when you meet new enemies. Y...

Dark Souls
DARK SOULS PHILOSOPHY: Give players mental permission to 'cheat' (i.e. reading FAQs, summoning other players) by making the game mysterious, taking away expected functions (pausing) and by deliberate use of difficulty spikes. IMPACT ON DOCUMENTATION: Developer intent, for better or worse, is that y...

I came here looking for the GIF of Graham crabwalking past of Kathleen's adorable smile.
Why is there an internet if not to produce for me a GIF of this?!: http://youtu.be/Kb6-13sgaD4?t=7m18s
I may have to sleep or work, but I refuse to close this tab until I see it!

Legality, Colour, Type (Creature/Instant/Main phase spell), Converted mana cost, Actual mana cost. I forget if I have them alphabetical after that. Legality is primary, because I don't wish to be distracted by cards I can't use. Having to reorganize a limited portion of the cards once or twice a yea...

Re: Magic: The Gathering: Whatcha mean, there's no thread ye
Granted, my lack of Magic-playing friends makes me value the physical cards a little lower than most people do, but the experience of learning to draft without being embarrassed by disdainful human eyes or awkward game management has been way more valuable than the cards I might have received. Moreo...

Re: Magic: The Gathering: Whatcha mean, there's no thread ye
You should try it on the internet! I never thought I'd have the balls to draft in real life, but since watching the guys a bunch and testing the waters on MTGO I'm getting the hang of it somewhat. I think I'm gonna try it this Friday unless something comes up. Then again, if building a solid constru...

Re: Magic: The Gathering: Whatcha mean, there's no thread ye
I take Cybren's admonishment to heart, although I'm still newb enough to prefer Sealed over Draft. I only play with the cards as I open them. I don't find it interesting to theorycraft, then buy, then build any kind of Constructed decks; way too much effort for too little payoff. I have nowhere near...

Re: Magic: The Gathering: Whatcha mean, there's no thread ye
So. Now that LRR has addicted me super hard to MTGO, I'm working on a redeemable M12 set. I guess the guys at least know how to get tickets for cards - I do not, so this is knowledge I would like to have! Better, however, would be anyone who was interested in trading - since I already have a number ...

I'm also back from a prerelease event today. Went 4-2, losing once to the winner. My first event was the Innistrad prerelease where I took 6th; this was my second and I took 9th out of 47. So, I am quite pleased! My deck: Caravan Vigil x2 Young Wolf Hunger of the Howlpack Sensory Deprivation x2 Dawn...

I learned Magic for free on my PS3
I felt this community was likely to benefit from this news. For those with (at least one, if not three) PS3s: As part of the Welcome Back program for PS3, you have a free month of PlayStation Plus available to you. Within the past few days, the full basic version of Magic: Duels of the Planeswalkers...

Husks in ME2 can usually be insta-killed with any biotics that impart force, like Throw, Pull, Singularity, etc.
