Re: LRR Minecraft Server

This is starting to become a recurring theme for me on servers, hehe.

Thanks Memo, I'll take it as a vote of confidence in my trustworthiness.

Re: LRR Minecraft Server

Indeed, I was online when it went offline.

I was going to say 'I was there', but I remembered that I wasn't, I was sat here, in exactly the same place as I am now, more or less.

Re: Xbox games on the Xbox 360

You know that didn't even occur to me either. I think my brain filled in the gaps and assumed it was Xbone related. I really need to read stuff more carefully, which is a worry as I'm currently writing the literature review for my PhD Thesis... :S

Re: Xbox games on the Xbox 360

Maybe because it's a combination of a well seen sotry in gaming circles, coupled with an apparent newbie/innocent individual at risk? I dunno, wasn't really on the lookout for a spambot though. Not that it bothers me much, this conversation has been far more interesting than my initial reply might h...

Re: Xbox games on the Xbox 360

Well, if it's genuine, I'd like to help someone avoid an expensive error rather than just ignore them and leave them to their fate. That said, thanks to pseudonym's post, it does seem like a slightly less legitimate post than I had previously believed.

Re: Xbox games on the Xbox 360

It's a lie, there's no backwards compatibility, someone is trying to get you to 'brick' your machine because they think it's funny.

Re: Kerbal Space Program

I've been working on a similar arrangement for Duna (Have landed a rover there already), largely because I felt the effort required for the Mun was a bit unecessary. That said it'd be nice to set up a permanent Munbase and orbital platform. The Orbiter-surface shuttle is a lot easier for Duna actual...

Well, you guys did start the whole secession thing, but that was a while ago.

For more info, look up Fields of Conflict 2014. I think it's going to be based at the Meriott(sp?) Hotel.

Re: LRR Minecraft Server

So what's everyone say? We'll start by trying to narrow down which weekend in January we should choose, and then try to get a day and time. (I'll be in San Francisco the first weekend, so that's not available.) For me, most likely the 30th/31st Jan, as I have my Literature review and conference sub...

Re: Kerbal Space Program

I also do fly-bys first. I tend to do high and low missions, and then a polar orbital in order to get all the orbital data I can (If you have gravity scanners, this needs to be high and low orbit for each biome). It also seems legit that you'd spot out landing sites from low (around 12-10km) orbit f...

Re: Kerbal Space Program

Docking is great, much easier than non-atmopsheric landing I'd say.

Only mod I use is MechJeb, mainly for the auto-manouvre once I've set a node, and to put things into orbit. I find the landing autopilot is a bit risky, much better to land it yourself.

[Tech Support Needed] Firefox Forum Problem

Hey folks,

When I log in on IE11, I can use LRR forums just splendidly.

When I try to log in on Firefox, it says successfully logged in, as usual, and then returns me to the log-in page.

Any clues?

Re: Kerbal Space Program

Indeed, once the experiment has been done, remove the data on EVA and store it in the capsule. Then you only need to return the capsule.

Profit!

Re: Kerbal Space Program

Interesting 2nd video, but a quick question, why did you bring the materials lab and goo pods back on parachute? Why not do an EVA, remove the data, and jettison them to save on the no. of parachutes needed to land, as well as payload mass?

Re: LRR Minecraft Server

If your building or project is not labeled, it has the possibility of being demolished in favor of new development. If I don't know who to contact and the space is needed for renovations, it's coming down. Just a simple sign like "Memo's House" or whatever. Something that indicates who bu...
