I'm still missing two of the hero cards: the white ones from Theros and from Journey.

Re: The M15 Super Special Awesome Spoiler Thread!

I doubt that there's any thought to secondary market pricing here. Wizards will have had to have the list finalized long before there were any secondary market prices on any cards in the decks. Clash packs replace the event decks for every second set, so Khans will have an event deck, then the next ...

I wouldn't base a purchase decision on Courser alone. I doubt it can hold the $16 it's currently pulling.

Re: The M15 Super Special Awesome Spoiler Thread!

So a friend of mine completely scrapped all plans for his Enchantress standard deck because he saw the Back to Nature reprint.

I don't think it's all that bad. It's like not playing creatures because Supreme Verdict is in the format.

Re: The Limited thread

I drafted JBT last night at the FLGS. The red+white aggro deck just came to me. I got a fifth-pick Wingsteed Rider in the Theros pack. I got two Magma Jet and two Bolt of Keranos. I lost two out of 7 matches -- one of my losses I played again in semifinals and knocked him out. I got knocked out in f...

I like the card, but the templating is really clumsy. Apparently they've gone back to "base power and toughness" after 15 years.

Re: The M15 Super Special Awesome Spoiler Thread!

Mill is so bad in my local EDH meta because everyone sticks an Eldrazi titan in their deck. Colorless, check. Big effect, check. Anti-mill, incidental check. I'm actually running a Stifle in my counterspell deck just to counter Eldrazi triggered abilities.

Re: Custom cards - Playability assessment

I think that A, it should be a sorcery that exiles itself (see time reversal), and that B, it shouldn't check the Exile zone. Pull from Eternity and Riftsweeper are exceptions to the "nothing interacts with exiled cards except the thing that exiled it" hard rule. A mutual Bribery the hits ...

Re: The M15 Super Special Awesome Spoiler Thread!

I need all these slivers for reasons.

I remember the original slivers, and the second run of them. I wasn't around for the time spiral ones. I like the ally versions better, honestly, because I don't have to track which changelings get bonuses off of my slivers.

In monoblack, I run 4 downfall, 3 devour flesh, 1 ultimate price, and 2 bile blight mainboard, and 2 dark betrayal, 3 ultimate price, 1 bile blight, and 1 devour flesh sideboard, but aggro and zoo are big players in my local meta. My control-playing buddy runs 4 D-sphere, 4 Verdict, and 4 Downfall, ...

Re: Magic the Gathering: Ask a Judge

Also, if they want to answer your questions about derived information, it's a tournament error to present incorrect derived information (MTR 4.1). So it's in their interest to either avoid the question or count their library. I'd count it, personally, as I want to limit the time I've got my cards in...

Re: The M15 Super Special Awesome Spoiler Thread!

It's hard to build a decent limited environment without some fixing of some kind, and reprinting a dual doesn't take up spell slots, so most sets are going to have duals of some flavor.

It's definitely a hard G. I'm not sure how rest should be, but 'Gar-' isn't pronounced "Jar-" however you look at it.

I usually say 'GAIR-ruk.'

Re: Fblthp, planeswalker

The biggest issue with that is multiple copies. I make a third or fourth emblem, then cast a new copy, then draw 3 or 4 cards for U, and the next one's going to be more cards. The escalation is definitely a planeswalkerey thing, though (look at Sorin, lord of Innistrad). The biggest issue I see is t...

Zendikar has a lot of plot threads tied up in it: Sorin looking for a way to imprison the Titans again Bolas being Bolas (fingers in ALL of the pies) Kiora and Nissa trying to save Zendikar, while making it better than before ...etc. It looks like they're gearing up for Zendikar: Act 2. I wouldn't b...

Re: Fblthp, planeswalker

that emblem is broken. You draw one card for every time it's been activated when Fblthp dies. He essentially cycles, ramps, and reanimates for U. If he's been out a few turns, you can draw X where X is the number of turns he's been out, minus 2 (one turn for +1 and one for -2). The emblems stack, to...
