Interesting that they've got two strong ramp creatures so far in GTC. One Green, one Black. Not entirely sure what that means, if anything...

Re: JRPG Mafia: DAY 2

Well, now I'm not sure whether to vote for JackSlack or Utilitarian. Because, I'm more confident about Jack than Utilitarian, but with one vote already going Utilitarian's way, it's tempting to jump on that bandwagon. Eh, I'll just go with my original suspicion for now and change if I need to help g...

Re: Magic: The Gathering: Whatcha mean, there's no thread ye

I really need to start reading dailymtg and looking at the spoilers before reading this thread. Discussion can get really confusing. Regardless, let's not freak out too much about a 2-drop extort creature. That early in the game, you might not have too many opportunities to leave a mana open. I thin...

Re: JRPG Mafia: DAY 2

It's also possible that it wasn't a revenge kill, and Gunner just happened to target one of the baddies. As for figuring out based on who didn't vote, I'm not sure how well that tactic works based on the first day. I mean, there will be plenty of people (like myself) who just don't know who to vote ...

Hm, losing a Warrior of Darkness day one is interesting. Looking back at his posts, Kapol seemed to be defending JackSlack while being wishy-washy on Duckay. Perhaps nothing, but for now...

Re: Magic: The Gathering: Whatcha mean, there's no thread ye

Well, I think part of the alignment decisions are colored by the Plane the set takes place in. Sorin's generally a dark character, despite his intentions. He's a vampire, which in most places is a creature of darkness. In his home of Innistrad, though, where vampires are just a fact of life, Sorin s...

Does that sort of effect also apply to Cryptborn Horror? ie, if I have a pyroconvergence on the field and I cast Cryptborn Horror, will it get two additional counters after the pyroconvergence's effect resolves?

Re: Magic: The Gathering: Whatcha mean, there's no thread ye

Well, there's a reason why Sorin is white as well as Black. He isn't entirely a bad guy, he just got a bit of a vampiric curse. As Lord of Innistrad, he couldn't just allow the monsters of the realm to run free and unchecked. As such, he created Avacyn to bring balance as a defender of humanity. At ...

That's about what I was thinking. Along with some Green pump stuff like rancor and giant growth. Not sure if the green ring is worth it. Also, thinking about maybe a Rogue's Passage or two for the best case scenario of getting assassins out. Edit: This is what I managed to put together. Probably not...

So, quick question. For a casual standard deck, what would go best with my two Vraskas? I'm looking more for general deck types than specific cards, since I'm just gonna be working out of my mostly-from-drafts collection.

Re: JRPG Mafia: DAY 1

Yeah, I really don't think it's Jack. It might be Duckay, but if it's not, I'd feel guilty voting for her, since she'd be immediately shut out of playing a game after running the last one. I know that's not a good reason, but it isn't like there's anything pointing to her being guilty either.

Yeah, I know I've neglected participating as much as I probably should be, but it's hard to make a lot of decisions at this point. I'm just never sure of what information to go on. Maybe we should hold a town meeting and everyone can take an oath on some important object which we will then entrust t...

Glad you guys did the callback for the detectives, but as always, the snuggie cultists were simply amazing, in my opinion. The jokes were always great and the fact they had an amount of continuity with Cam joining them and then invading the A9 reporter sketch was wonderful.

Cipher might be a /little/ less crazy good if they're all similar to the spoiled card, ie having whatever effect apply to both players "equally".

I don't think the child investigator role was over powered looking at the game as a whole, but it did kind of cut down on the fun on both sides. Townies didn't need to discuss and investigate as much and the Mafia couldn't do much obfuscation to delay their deaths. As for me, I'm assuming my kill wa...
