Re: Name that Game!
Still here's the next one. Gonna start off with something a bit more obscure and get more obvious ones if noone gets it. Did you mean that you're going to give a new game to guess if no-one gets this one, or that you'd give a new screenshot of this game to make it more identifiable? Gonna post incr...

If stuff wasn't the way it is at the moment I'd probably have paid more attention, but that kind of thing seems to have fallen off my radar somewhat as of late. Still here's the next one. Re: Name that Game!
So if I'm aware that the Amnesia Fortnight is Double Fine's annual event where they stop making games to persue random mini-projects that the team members want to make, did a google search for this years entries, and discovered through that method that this is a screenshot from Mnemonic, does that m...

Re: The depressing depression thread
I know this is the depressing depression thread, but I think its important to remember that even when we're in the biggest pile of shittiest shit, there's usually a light on the horizon. A few months ago I applied for a PhD position in London, and after what felt like an absolute age, they invited m...

Re: Budget Modern - Dimir Blitz
Just out of interest, why are you running Manaleak, instead of a more permanent counter spell? With your curve as low as it is, I would have thought you'd have the spare mana open for a 3-drop counterspell fairly early.

Re: The General Magic: The Gathering Thread
So my local gaming/comic shop that I frequent for my weekly MTG hit, has recently decided to start up a fortnightly juniors gaming club, to help introduce younger players to the game, and give them a safe environment to meet up and play cards. Having made myself a Rules Advisor a couple weeks ago, I...

Re: Brainstorming a "Scry Guys" standard deck
Is there a reason that you aren't running Knowledge and Power? Sure its a bit costly, but with so much scry happening, and it being in colour, seems like it would fit in well!

Re: Custom cards - Playability assessment
My first concern is that these cards should probably be legendary, just because they are really actually quite strong, and having 4 out simultaneously would be baaaaaad.

Re: The General Magic: The Gathering Thread
After pulling a Battlefield Thaumaturge during the launch weekend draft I went to, I thought it might be fun to try constructing a U/G strive heroic deck. This is what I've got so far, but as my history with deckbuilding tends to result in me building decks that just flop massively when I play them,...

Re: Commander/EDH Deck Talk
So after removing the cards I needed for my Orzhov EDH deck, I figured I probably ought to use the rest of Eternal Bargain for something, so inspired by Sydri and the fact I also got the Tezzeret duel deck for my birthday I figured I'd splice Tezerret into Eternal bargain and make an Esper Artifact ...

Re: The Journey Into Nyx Happy Fun Spoiler Time Thread!
Suddenly realised that polymorphous rush comes in whilst Biovisionary is still in standard. 7 mana to win the game seems really quite reasonable with the way Simic colours have been rewarded in this block!

Re: The General Magic: The Gathering Thread
Of course, if anyone has any improvements for it, I'd be happy to hear them, on the off chance I ever build a deck like this in the future. What about Nightveil Specter? It would fit in with the theme of the deck and be a good early play that provides three early pips for Nykthos. That looks pretty...

Re: The General Magic: The Gathering Thread
Was having a think this evening, and came up with what I believe to be a solid blue/white standard control deck. Having never really been that much into Azorius or control, it was a bit strange suddenly having the idea for this deck, and chances are it isn't actually particularly competitive, but I ...

Re: The General Magic: The Gathering Thread
Since its my little sister's 21st birthday next week, I figured I'd take the opportunity to make another push to get her taking more of an interest in Magic again, and knowing how vast her adoration of all things pigs is, I decided to manipulate that to my advantage. Presenting Pigs Can Fly , a R/U/...

Re: Game I'm making with RPG Maker Ace (Name pending)
Okay, had a quick play through last night, and I've got to say, although the combat system is fun, it is in desperate need of some balancing. With the way the dice roller works, its not terribly unlikely for a pair of high rolling slimes to deal damage either in the high single digits or even into d...

Re: The General Magic: The Gathering Thread
Based on the fact that pretty much all we know about the set is that its going to be slanted towards janky multiplayer limited games, I think assuming that they'll permit anything but the most game breaking janky interactions is probably the safest bet.

Re: Magic the Gathering: Ask a Judge
My guess would be yes, batallion only triggers during the attack step, so Bomber Corps will have deathtouch, courtesy of Nylea's Bow, and it doesn't matter what kind of damage you deal, as long as the amount of damage is non-zero, it will immediately destroy that creature, the moment damage is assig...

Re: Commander/EDH Deck Talk
Having pulled Xenagos the Reveller, Xenagos, God of Revels and Mogis, God of Slaughter in the last two drafts I've taken part in, it suddenly feels as if I ought to try constructing a R/G or Jund commander deck. I've a feeling I might even still have a decent amount of Gruul cards floating around fr...

Re: Commander/EDH Deck Talk
I'm guessing its this EDH Bant Enchantment Lifegain deck . The most obvious card that is missing, given its a lifegain deck, is Rhox Faithmender . Same effect as Boon Reflection, but on a creature with lifelink for 1 less mana. Cradle of Vitality is another enchantment that combos well with lifegain...

Re: Game I'm making with RPG Maker Ace (Name pending)
Do you know if the Gab floating text boxes work in combat? Because those would be a relatively straightforward way of displaying the dice rolls without needing an additional popup that requires clicking through. Edit- Also, just a heads up, the link in the first post hasn't updated with the latest v...
