Re: The depressing depression thread
Thanks Lord Hosk, you were right. I just got back from the GP and I feel much better. I probably just needed to take some time off.

Re: The depressing depression thread
I've been coping with my depression quite well for the last 2 months, I managed to fight the eating disorders I started to develop, fixed my sleep schedule a bit and managed to keep myself together pretty well. But I start to feel hollow again, I feel that can't keep up anymore and I'm scared that i...

Re: The General Magic: The Gathering Thread
Admiral Memo, you should spread it, I think it works better this way. when all your duals give you your main color. I used to run Temple of Plenty in my Abzan list, which is mostly black based because of all the removal, but I found it difficult to hit double black early in the games so I switched t...

Re: Magic the Gathering: Ask a Judge
Your opponent should still get the counter. The spell still had a legal target. It wouldn't do anything if there were no longer any legal targets for it.

Re: The depressing depression thread
God. Now my social skills are just killing me. This is one of the problems I have interacting with people on this forum. English is my second language and I feel quite comfortable using it, but sometimes I just write something that is perfectly normal, but translated to Polish would sound weird or s...

Re: Magic the Gathering: Ask a Judge
Yes, because you don't choose target, because you don't cast it, you put it onto the battlefield. 303.4f If an Aura is entering the battlefield under a players control by any means other than by resolving as an Aura spell, and the effect putting it onto the battlefield doesnt specify the object or p...

Re: Magic the Gathering: Ask a Judge
Yup, Gildan is right about the Mycosynth Lattice. But it is worth mentioning that lattice makes all cards that aren't on the battlefield, spells, and permanent colorless so you can basically use Ancient Stirring to put any card in your hand.

Re: The depressing depression thread
Deedles, are you not interested in playing GTA or not generally interested in the game? I'm asking because maybe you could just hang out with your friends and watch them play and not feel left out. I used to do that a lot because most of my friends played on consoles and I didn't have one.

Re: Magic the Gathering: Ask a Judge
"If your commander would go into the library or your hand, you may choose to put it into the command zone." the rules change doesn't mention phasing so my guess is that it will work and the commander will be gone forever. Wish effects wouldn't allow you to get it back. It's mentioned on ga...

Re: Standard Discussion
I was thinking about using her against the new RG Dragons Aggro deck with Thunderbreak Regents. She can stabilize you pretty well and in control matchups against deck that don't run Elspeth and Hornet Queen(UB Control and Esper Dragons Control) if left unaswered she can easily swing the game in your...

Re: The General Magic: The Gathering Thread
Yeah I was thinking about Esper Dragon Control, but the Monastery Mentor looks really interesting. I haven't seen him played a lot except in LSV Vintage videos. Even if I don't play Esper at the GP, I will definitely build it and run it at FNM's. Also I realized that there is no Standard dedicated t...

What do you guys think about Dragonlord Dromoka as a sideboard card in Abzan Midrange and Control lists? Do you think it's worth the slot?

Couldn't find an thread for this, so I created one. Do you play Standard? Do you think about getting into Standard? What are your thoughts on current metagame? What deck or decks are you running? Do you want to show off your new brew? Do you need some feedback on your deck? This thread is dedicated ...

Re: The General Magic: The Gathering Thread
Looks sweet, how did the Monastery Mentor work out for you? Is it worth to run him in the mainboard in control shells? I'm also curious if Sorin is good enough to run him with almost no creatures and just Elspeth and Secure the Wastes. Could you post your sideboard too? I'm going to a GP in two week...

Played my mono black aggro/discard deck against a Vendilion Clique TL deck last week. Got wrecked. Isochron Scepter with Cyclonic Rift imprinted on it is really strong and Vedalken Shackles are a bit overpowered in this format if you ask me.

I disagree Memo, when you streamed Portal 2 and you talked to me it actually made my day, because you were the only person that actually paid some attention to me that day. Thanks for that.

Re: TTC 80 - Commander Rules & DTK Preview Draft
I think you managed to sum up the problem with EDH at my LGS with one sentence: "It's not supposed to be budget Vintage". Because that's basially what this format turned into where I play. People are running decks worth about 2000$ with original dual lands, Time Spiral, Force of Will and a...

Re: How to start Magic-ing on a budget?
While I can't tell you much about MTGO, I can definitely give you some tips on starting your adventure with paper Magic. You should find a local gaming store and ask them for a starter set. Most of the gaming stores have those free starter sets and are giving them away to new players. The starter se...
