If you want multiple Yamato-cannon-firings, you have to keep pressing the hotkey. Maybe shift-clicking the button works too, not sure.

Re: Bioshock, in a floating city?
No, I believe it's clearly set in the same world as Rapture. Rapture was an attempt to ESCAPE America. This is America going "we're fucking awesome, why would you WANT to leave?" in response. See? ...It's a bit like Fallout 3. Same universe, COMPLETELY different location (but not really)....

I'm somewhat curious: How did you get your Steam games on your desktop in the first place without an internet connection?

If so, did you sign in using the same google account both times?

$99 USD to release a game. And then pay Epic 25% on any revenue over the first $5000 USD Only if you do a commercial release. Free games pay nothing. The really good thing about UDK (From my experience) is that it has a scripting language. Having tried coding for both Source and UDK I have to say U...

Second: Games for Windows? I realize "fps" is the realm of the PC, but I still think we'd be kicking ourselves in the ass if we don't design the thing to be controller friendly. Playing an FPS with a controller is the worst thing ever. Third person works ok, but for an FPS you really need...

Re: How do you guys treat ads?
From the other side of the table, I don't think that I'd ever put ads on a site that I own. Partly because my current sites mainly amount to personal projects that don't have large readerships and don't cost much to maintain. Beyond that my broad philosophy is that I wouldn't want to run a site that...

Re: How do you guys treat ads?
My methodology is to block all ads by default, and then selectively allow them on sites that I visit regularly (e.g. LRR, Penny Arcade, several other comics sites). It is still extremely rare that I will actually click on an ad.

Re: New to Steam
Post your budget and I'll see what sort of components you need to be looking at.
Unfortunately as you currently have a laptop transitioning to a desktop will be more costly as you'll need a monitor, case and other peripherals That will add a couple of hundred pounds to the cost.

Re: ClickQuest
Leveling is an interesting problem. In a 'real' mmo such as WoW there are two variables: XP required to get to the next level and the amount of XP gained from completing quests, killing mobs etc. ClickQuest only has one variable: The number of clicks. I think that I geometric progression of clicks b...

Re: ClickQuest
For reference, level 11 on it's own would take 15 years to get to. Alex mentioned this in the youtube comments. He went on to say that any 'real' version of the game would have to handle leveling differently to provide any kind of actual progression. @Alex: Any news from your developer? Curious to ...

I finished the single-player campaign on Normal difficulty over the weekend. I'm now going back through the missions to get the rest of the achievements which is surprisingly fun. Normal was a bit too easy, so I'm also going to try the whole thing again on Hard. All this is basically an excuse for m...
