Re: MtG: Unusual FNM question
Yeah, I don't recall ever needing to show ID to sign up, and I have a friend who didn't use his actual name, so I'm pretty sure you should be fine.

Re: Interested in getting into Magic...
The easiest way to get into it is with a few friends at about the same playing level in Magic. Get some starter decks and have fun.

Re: [OFFICIAL] CONSOLE GAMER TAGS
Volafortis on Steam, 360, and PSN. Note, I mainly use my PC for playing games, so unless it's exclusive, or for whatever other reason, I generally don't get games or play my consoles much, Although I do use my PS3 for Netflix (Even though the 360 app is so much better, just too lazy to swap cables, ...

Re: Magic the Gathering: Ask a Judge
snip Yeah, I made a second post, and tried to make it more accurate, rather than trying to be easy to understand, and I clarified the Oracle of Mul Daya's ability is what known as a static ability. Another instance of static abilities causing shenanigans is Elesh Norn. If you control an Elesh Norn,...

Re: Magic the Gathering: Ask a Judge
Actually I'm going to need to see credentials, or wait for Sil Pho on dying in the middle of brainstorm, because of "10/4/2004: This is all one effect. You draw 3 and return 2 cards all in one resolution. Nothing may happen between the two. If something triggers on drawing cards, it will go on...

What if Kathleen's sadness is a state based action?

Re: Magic the Gathering: Ask a Judge
One thing worth noting, however, is that state based actions (SBA) still apply throughout resolution. For instance, let's say you control an Oracle of Mul Daya when you cast Divination, which causes you to play with the top card of your library revealed. When you draw two cards, even though technica...

Re: Magic: The Gathering: Whatcha mean, there's no thread ye
@Volafortis: Thanks for the very detailed advice. They all sound like very cool additions to the deck, and I would be very keen to add a planeswalker at some point, although I'm not sure which actually fit properly. However, I probably wasn't clear enough in my post as to what I'm looking to do wit...

Re: Sins of The Solar Empire: Trinity - Yay or Nay
Sins is an amazing game, but it takes a long time to play. Still if you have the time, do it. I'm really looking forward to the upcoming expansion, Rebellion.
Also, the developer is Ironclad, not Stardock. Stardock is the publisher.

Re: Magic: The Gathering: Whatcha mean, there's no thread ye
The guys at LRR have revitalized a long dormant interest in Magic for me (long story short, I played it for like two months way back during the Invasion cycle). I've got Duels of the Planeswalker 2012 on my PS3 and I was wondering if anyone's tried out the DLC for it. If so, was it worth it? I have...

Just picked up an Alliances and Innistrad pack at a random Collectables store. Got a Force of Will and Snapcaster Mage.
The funny thing? I actually don't need either, it's my 5th Force, and my 7th Snapcaster, lol.

Re: Assassin Creeds
Pffft Harding and Fillmore? Way to dumb it down for the audience, guys. Why not go with someone actually obscure like Benjamin Harrison or Zachary Taylor? Seriously, though, this was great. Harding is actually rather obscure, but I agree, Millard Fillmore is not an obscure one. Lesser known? Sure, ...

Re: FRIDAY NIGHTS: Friday
I'm kind of amused by all the people trying to figure this out based on when the cards being used were available. I was only curious because there's an inconsistency (which Graham has addressed, so it makes sense now) I'm assuming they were shot late summer 2011, with the one scene being re-shot in...

Re: FRIDAY NIGHTS: Friday
I'm curious about the whole Snapcaster trade from Episode 2. I figured that they were filmed before the rotation (pre-banning, actually, considering the Caw-Blade stuff on Paul's board), but then Matt traded two Snapcasters. I then figured there was just some continuity issue, but now, you're playin...

I carry around a block of d6s that I use to keep track of everything, life, poison, tokens, counters, EVERYTHING.
