As many people say (completely made that up), Hitchhiker's movie wasn't made to please the already existing fans, it was made to draw in new ones. Fans of the book would love the movie for the subtle pokes at the book, while new oncomers would be drawn in to the movie's wacky comedy.

I tend to find the witty, nonsensical jokes the funniest. Like when Graham is talking in his British accent and goes, "...in England!" I can't explain why, but that makes me laugh so much. Morgan makes me laugh, too, because he is more of the physical comedian. He jumps all over the place ...

The ending of the Hitchhiker movie was great. So great, it's on par with the robot with a herring sandwich in the fifth book.
