Re: The KHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANs of Tarkir Spoiler Thread
Sphinx's Revelation really isn't very powerful outside of standard. (Yeah, it sometimes sees play in UWR in Modern, but the variant that runs Sphinx's Rev is falling pretty heavily out of favor) The real power of RTR block was Supreme Verdict, Voice of Resurgence, Domri Rade, Abrupt Decay, and Death...

But it was, compared to Innistrad block, which was weaker than Scars, which (sans N.P.) was weaker than Zendikar.

Re: The KHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANs of Tarkir Spoiler Thread
Eh, It's at about the same power level as Theros so far, in my book. Overall quite low, with a few standouts. I'll reserve final judgement until the entire set's spoiled, but they've been slowly lowering the power level of Standard ever since Zendikar, with the exception of New Phyrexia, so I wouldn...

Re: The KHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANs of Tarkir Spoiler Thread
I like it, but I really feel it should've been rare, not mythic. In fact, most of the mythics this set are... not mythic. They all feel like they should be rares to me, other than the Khans and the walkers.

Re: The KHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANs of Tarkir Spoiler Thread
I'm super excited to see Ugin later in the block. It seems like the block story is set up to be Sarkhan as Sorin going back in time to resurrect Ugin.

Re: The KHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANs of Tarkir Spoiler Thread
If it has delve, it still faces the Phyrexian Obliterator casting cost issue, but Urborg in standard and mono-black already being a deck certainly helps in that respect. It'll probably be Reanimateball - XXBBBB Sorcery Delve Return X target creatures from your graveyard to the battlefield. I hope it...

Re: The KHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANs of Tarkir Spoiler Thread
Ew... first time I've seen Wingmate Roc. That's a mythic? I mean, I even think it's a good card, but it does not feel mythic by any means.

Re: The KHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANs of Tarkir Spoiler Thread
Or possibly panorama equivalents. While the rest of the fetches would be awesome, I think they'd spread them throughout the block. We all know Wedges need lots of mana fixing to work in limited, so the high number of land slots makes sense.

Re: Let's NOPE pre-voting
I've never liked horror if you have a weapon. Being able to combat the enemies just breaks any sense of horror. Making the combat mechanics clunky or ineffectual due to limited ammo or weak weapons just means you're adding a bad game mechanic for the sake of adding combat. So, in my opinion, combat ...

Re: The KHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANs of Tarkir Spoiler Thread
Well, Looks like I get to pimp my Modern decks with my Onslaught fetches. Also, I like that the 5-drop hasty dragon in KTK is Sarkhan. Preordered a case, gonna buy singles, and sit on the boxes. Also, this might signal potentially having the ZEN fetches spread throughout the rest of the block as well.

Re: LRR Minecraft Server
Glowstone can be hard to find in the nether, so it's best if you use the market for that, mining within your 150x150 area is unlimited, though, so you can feel free to mine for redstone. If you feel like you want more though, you can either enchant your pick with Fortune, or just buy redstone at the...

Re: The KHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANs of Tarkir Spoiler Thread
I'm super excited to see what they do for the wedge charms. We've already had 2 cycles of shard charms, so it'd make a ton of players mad if they didn't do wedge charms.
I'm also hoping for wedge Ultimatums, but I'm not so sure we'll get those.

Re: Let's NOPE pre-voting
Yeah, I just bought Five Nights at Freddy's, and shit, that's terrifying. It's theoretically short, but I think he'll get plenty of restarts out of it. It's horror in the same vein as SCP Containment Breach, but the execution is much better. My experiences with it: I'm.... stuck on Night 2. Nope...

Re: Upcoming changes to blocks and rotation...
But... I thought everybody wants to rule the world? I don't understand why, it's a pretty mad world. I think they did a good job announcing the three word codenames, only to have them all become multiple 2 set blocks. Lorwyn - Original disguised as "Peanut/Butter/Jelly" Became - "Pean...

Re: The General Magic: The Gathering Thread
Fat Pack sealed is fun. My LGS at the time did that for the Theros release weekend, and I built a crazy UG deck with 3 Horizon Chimeras and 2 Bow of Nyleas that I opened. I managed to win that event .

Re: THE LRR VIDEO RATINGS THREAD!
I'd need to go though and remember which videos are in which seasons, but the worst video of all time is probably "A Brief History of Lame" I understand Graham and Paul probably have a personal attachment to it, being the first video they ever uploaded, but even by Season 1 standards, it's...

Re: Upcoming changes to blocks and rotation...
I assume people will start anticipating a card rotation once the second set of the third block gets released, and therefore, that'll be the "get rid of the old stuff" period, so each large set will have 15 months, each small set a year. As far as planeswalkers and power level are concerned...

Re: The General Magic: The Gathering Thread
Well, I've played against Brad Nelson (he actually lives only an hour or so away from where I do, and he goes to most major events at Paradox in Fargo, which I often do, as well) He's an alright guy, and he's nice online, but he's kind of condescending and certainly has an air of superiority about h...

Re: Upcoming changes to blocks and rotation...
I don't play Standard, so the rotation change doesn't affect me. More frequent blocks means we can expect more frequent returns with regard to Planes, characters, story arcs, mechanics, everything. Rather than waiting most of a decade to revisit the Phyrexians, Eldrazi, and Bolas, we can probably ex...

Re: Watch + Play
My issue is, in a game like Penumbra, and after seeing how he played Penumbra, I fear the same thing for Amnesia, you need to be able to get absorbed. Going, "Yadada, dicking around with physics objects, oh sheet of paper, gonna just ignore this, oh, an enemy, I guess I'll just walk away from i...
