I don't think we need to wait until the update to play FTL. It would be stupid for Cam to play hard mode in something he's completely unfamiliar with.
I think FTL would be great for when Cam feels like taking a break from other games. But first, he needs to try it and see how much he likes it.

I'm also putting my vote in for FTL.

Is Temple of the Lava Bears still a thing? Is that going to be group played in a physical room or online? When is that going to start anyhow?

Re: General LRL Stream Feedback
Crossing the Streams was all sorts of awesome. Watching you guys play together was great fun. I was also impressed by how little cross-talk there was. My only complaint is that you can't switch PoVs. If you were to group-stream Minecraft again, might I suggest that you have someone act solely as a c...

Dammit Susan. Look what you've started.
Also, I feel like Paul's reaction in the stinger may have been a little understated. Bear maulings are serious business!

Re: Kathleen Saves the World
Kathleen, thanks for suffering through FFFFXXIIIIII-33!! It was very entertaining to watch.
Also, at the end of launch day, a common opinion seems to be that the combat is balls hard and playing on easy is highly recommended for first playthrough.

Maybe more like 1/month? You realize they spend MONTHS preparing for DBFH, and then spend weeks afterward RECOVERING (but that's the marathon aspect). Yes, I do realize that. I've been following Desert Bus for five years. Now please take some time to read my post. You seem fixated on a single sente...

Re: General LRL Stream Feedback
Does LRL have plans for ensemble streams? Like maybe 4 people sitting on a couch playing party games or some such. I'm kinda surprised you guys haven't gone for a micro/proto-desertbus style show since the format and execution are already proven. While gameplay can be interesting, what really grabs ...

Uh... Why is everyone having trouble seeing the "Click here to see the LoadingReadyLive Broadcast Schedule!" banner between the rotating video banner and the blog on the front page? It's actually really simple. Most people scan webpages instead of reading them. Despite having three colors...

Re: Beej's Backlog
Is Beej's Backlog set in stone? Would Beej consider playing Muramasa: The Demon Blade for the Wii? It's a beautiful 2D side-scrolling action RPG by Vanillaware (who also made Odinsphere). Muramasa has stunning visuals with beautifully detailed and animated environments and characters. Along with the...

Re: The Definition of "Sport"
I think with discussions like this, exactly as with art, the definition is always recursive. "It's sport only when people view it as a sport". Not very useful for definition purposes, but probably the best one out there. Indeed. I only value these conversations if they can force a moment ...

Re: The Definition of "Sport"
As a sport for taxation - Depends on lobbying and if they could be arsed to create new laws for it or just lump it under existing regulations. As a sport for participation - Largely depends on public perception. Any fatass can play football in his backyard. To perform at the highest levels of Starcr...

Re: Starbound anyone?
I totally want to explore planets at some point, but it took a huge amount of time before I figured out how to (I kept looking for oil or similar fuel, not charcoal), and now I'm just waiting for it to be out of beta as I don't want to keep losing everything. Plus I'm not done with that one planet ...

Re: difference between a game and a sport and an art
Is that at all a meaningful distinction? You'll need a well-established purpose and context before anyone can judge for meaning. Otherwise, it's going to be a run around in circles which, while amusing, is a waste of time other than for the amusement. If you're genuinely interested in exploring thi...

Things like these exist because they are useful. If e-sports become popular and lucrative enough, definitions and rules will either be changed or forgotten.

I usually knock out back-walls for light instead of using torches, so I don't go much deeper than where the background gets dark. ...

We bought the game at the same time and started at the same time. The planet threat level is 1... It sounds like you guys are doing a lot of stockpiling and building for the long term. I would seriously recommend against this until the game is out of beta. I love hoarding and collecting in games, b...

Never heard of it. Looking at the screenshot, is it Terraria in Space? If you want a comparison, I'd say Starbound is an improved and far more ambitious Terraria. Having played quite a bit of Terraria, it feels like a simple proof-of-concept for Starbound. The main draw of Starbound for me is the v...
