No FIF, no! Go away! I'm not going to buy Elite: Dangerous + a Hotas-X. Not until I know if I actually like the game. No, I don't care my salary just got paid out.

Reading The Goldilocks Enigma right now. It's about why the universe seems so perfectly built to support life. Getting a crash course in the major themes of physics along the way

Re: LRRniverse - LRRcraft Starbound server
He TStoddden. Just wanted to say that there was nothing regarding the server that kept me from playing on it. I guess I'm just over my initial hype around Starbound and a lot of other games have caught my interest. I might come back to it once in a while, but not consistently enough to be part of a ...

Re: The world has lost one of it's gratest minds. RIP Pratch
Though I only read the Guards books (and Mort) his work still had a profound effect on my outlook on the world, with all it's big faults and small miracles. He will be missed by many.

Re: The Game Venting Thread
I know this is the venting thread, but I have a hypothesis, RedNightmare: Our brains are wired to focus on novelty. For most of a game, you're learning new things, new mechanics, new interactions or uses of old mechanics, and then at the end, you're left to use those things you've learn in the most...

Re: The Creatives Corner
I've been screwing around a bit with RPGmaker and I finally finished my first little project. It's super basic and just the result of half a tutorial (other half was me finishing it). Still, I feel feedback is at it's best when you get it early, so if someone wants to play it, here you go: https://w...

Re: The Game Venting Thread
Can someone explain to me why I keep playing games to an inch of finishing and then I move on? I'm almost at the end of Bravely Default, but can't seem to muster the interest to finish it proper (Same goes for Valkeria Chronicles, Metal Gear Rising, Enslaved to name a few). Is my attention span real...

Re: LRRcast - Monthly Spending
When James taked about 'some people at Penny Arcade' I just pictured Jerry Holkins sitting at his desk, watching the podcast. He just clicks it away, stands up and walks away mildy angered. Not because I think Jerry would be among those people, but because he could sell the hell out of that performa...

@Fayili: I put my Work Experience before my education. However, I guess that choice is influenced by actual experience and what job you're sending it in for. Always lead with the strong.

I went with the rancid food option. I would just stop eating and drinking. Sure, the pain is gonna be great, but knowing the mind, it will just filter that out at some point (Like how torture get's less effective over time, horrible analogy, I know :() But my personal hell would be everything is wra...

And now Robert Rath has also left the Escapist.

I hope he continues to write articles in the vein of Critical Intel, they were always facinating to read.
EDIT: What is it with me and misspelling fascination this morning.

Re: The General Chat thread
I saw that. I feel it was inevitable at some point, but yes, the timing is a bit interesting, especially this close to the new hires. We might be reading too much into this though and it could have just been a long time coming. This is just a gut feeling based on nothing at all, but I feel we might ...

Re: Gaming General Chat Thread
@Bebop Man: From what I'm hearing, it's not exactly the length. Jim Sterling made the argument that, yes it's short, but it also does very little with that time. It could have told a full story in 6 hours, but it failed that as well.
