Re: The Game Venting Thread
It's interesting in RPGs how durable some enemies are. You shouldn't live for long if you've been stabbed multiple times in the gut. Are there any RPGs where the more hurt you are, the less damage you deal? Like how IRL might be. At least some of the Front Mission games I think? Maybe Armored Core ...

Re: Steam Sales Awareness Thread!
Transistor is on sale for 33% off. I couldn't stop myself from buying it.
The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky is also on sale for 15% off. It's from Falcom, the developers of the Ys series, and apparently it's a port from the PSP.

A couple more hints: "Beast" is part of the title. It was a PC game released in the 90s with LAN and internet multiplayer support. Four more screens: http://i.imgur.com/1GrO2o4.jpg http://imgur.com/YMlMFAm.jpg http://imgur.com/ss20xgL.jpg http://i.imgur.com/txsoeLZ.jpg

Yes. I figured that one would last a little longer. I was also hoping I could use foreign games. That makes my list a lot shorter now.

Re: Ground Zeroes Controversy
Would you like to expand on why you think it's a bad idea? Quantic Dream has a reputation for QTEs, particularly QTEs that are not particularly well designed (pass/fail and unintuitive QTEs, particularly in B:TS); I happen to hate QTEs with a passion. Sorry, I should have noted that in my previous ...

Re: Ground Zeroes Controversy
Hmmm...I'd say QuanticDream, the guys who made Heavy Rain (I think the designer was called something like Falquore). While Heavy Rain was by no means perfect, I thought it was very good at depicting a child killing investigation with a good amount of seriousness and class. Of course, only having a ...

Re: General LRL Stream Feedback
I wasn't able to catch the stream live and I haven't played Magic in 15 years (back in ye olde' paper & concrete days) but yeah, I watched the Twitch replay and it was outstanding. I won't spoil anything (of course), but both games were very fun to watch and I hope you guys are able to stream mo...

Re: Steam Sales Awareness Thread!
I've sold 5-6 summer sale cards for 30-50 cents each. I'll wait till they drop to 15-20 cents each and then buy the 10 for the badge. Also, I was doing so well for 2 days, I hadn't bought anything on the Steam sale...and then Battleblock Theater went on sale for 75% off as well as Metal Gear Rising:...

Re: Steam Sales Awareness Thread!
I'm trying to ride out the Steam Sale storm with Wildstar. Half my wishlist is on sale but I haven't bought anything yet. If something on my wishlist goes on sale for like 66-75% off I may have to drop a line and reel it in. In the meantime, batten down the hatches on my wallet. Also, if STALKER goe...

I've been wondering this for a while now but, where did the EA "Act With Integrity" mug go? I feel like it could see a comeback or maybe a re-release.

Re: General LRL Stream Feedback
That's one of the things I've been working on, but it's taking time... I'll slowly get them all. Would it be easier if the !explain command just linked to an LRL highlights reel / sizzle reel whenever there is one? Yes it's an external link but that would be a lot shorter than dropping a block of t...

Re: Name that Game!
No, although I wish there was a BTTF game with that aesthetic. A few more clues: The now readable text is not on the newspaper, but in the bottom-right corner. Also, the "game" was made this year. That was what I immediately went for. I know the name of the game, albeit thanks to Wikipedi...

Re: The House of Stark
On a slightly related note, I just bought Dark Souls and I'm trying to figure out which emulator to use to get my Philips PC gamepad to work on it. Some folks say MotionJoy, others say X360ce. What are your thoughts? I don't have any other games that require/strongly suggest a X-box controller. Mot...

Re: Steam Sales Awareness Thread!
Dark Souls is on sale for the unusual price of $6.79USD. I broke down and bought it after watching Alex & Graham's streams as well as Yahtzee's video about it. Always Sometimes Monsters , an RPGMaker game seemingly in the same light as To the Moon is also on sale for $8.99USD. I haven't bought ...

Re: Gaming General Chat Thread
I just finished the fan-translated versions of Mother and Mother 3 for GBA and, being a big fan of Earthbound, I really cannot recommend them enough. Mother was definitely more for background and history, and required a bit of patience. Mother 3 was very well polished and had a truly wonderful story...
