Re: Friday Nights - Archfrenemies

Oh wow, it took me this long to notice the massive incongruity between the episode and the card opener. In the intro, graham's version of *Flush* is completely different from what is later discussed.

Re: Friday Nights - Archfrenemies

methtouch: whenever a creature without a meth counter blocks this creature, put a meth counter on it. Any creature with a meth counter on it must block a creature with methtouch whenever possible. Prevent all damage that creatures with meth counters on them would deal to creatures with methtouch.

flunge: This creature may block while tapped if you attacked with all your creatures on your last turn. Whenever you attack with all creatures, this creature gains +1/+1 and trample until end of turn. inpoopulate: Whenever a creature with inpoopulate dies, put X 0/1 red and green poop creature token...

Re: Design a Card

Essence cards: I agree with AdmiralMemo that irontusk boar seems too strong for a common. In fact, I think both should be uncommons (due to the treefolk not having mana generation abilities). Multimorph: Backup Regiment is perefctly fine. Forest child is a strong uncommon but still within the realms...

Re: Design a Card

Reguhl may be a bit strong.
He would be awesome in a soulshift deck.
But its mostly the unblockable that has me wondering.

The Kraken funnily enough seems fine. (3 permaments may be a bit much)
Otherwise it seems okay for 9 mana.

Re: Commander/EDH Deck Talk

Just had a fun game. Storm Herd out on turn 6 for 36. One turn later Rhys game out and I had sigil of the empty throne to make me some angel with some other cards. After another player went full eldrazi I managed to get mimic vat and parallel lives out and won. (killed his pathrazer then mimiced and...

Re: Design a Card

How would you price this?

Unchanging Loyalty - Enchantment
Whenever you would remove loyalty counters from a planeswalker you control to activate one of its abilities, you may instead pay an amount of mana equal to twice that number to activate that ability.

I like Vinos, though he would only be the 6th Bird that doesn't have flying (i think).

Edgewalker is fine as well.

I apologize in advance should some of these be a bit gross or crass. The As Acid Spewer Dragon - Vomit Cometh Aerie Bowmasters - Ass-shooters Ainok Artillerist - Can I shoot yet? Ainok Survivalist - Snowplow Ambuscade Shaman - Dash for 4 for 4/4 (no real nickname, just wordplay) Anafenza Kin...

Re: Design a Card

Dromoka's Breath doesn't work the way you want it to. As part of casting a spell, you need to choose targets. Therefore, the opponent's creature's won't lose shroud and hexproof until after targets have already been chosen. Atarka's Breath is interesting, although the rules don't allow you to choos...

Re: Design a Card

When trying to sleep last night the following popped into my head. We have vial of dragonfire, but nothing really specific to the breath of each dragonlord. Therefore I lay awake for another 30 minutes and thought up the following cards. Each is an instant at rare, and has Strive (1) (It costs 1 mor...

Re: Custom cards - Playability assessment

Both seem awesome. Demote to Goat (1U) Until end of turn, target creature loses all abilities and becomes a Goat of its color with base power and toughness 0/1. Goat Moat *as the Savannah Goat Oak, just in UB* Remote Goats (W) Sorcery Put a 0/1 white goat creature token onto the battlefield. Suspend...

Re: MTGO Custom Cube

I'd be up for this, either way is fine, though the PM way is likely a lot less confusing overall. (Also allows for a timezone differences in players).

For example, I am GMT+1 so, usually I could only trade late evening on MtGO as most of the time people aren't on otherwise (or on weekends).

Re: Commander/EDH Deck Talk

After making my mono-black recursion deck, I've come to wonder what the best engine for that is. Of course theres things like Grave Betrayal and Lim-Dul, but in general I was looking for activated abilities. So far I have 3 that I really like, but each has problems. 1)Chainer, Dementia Master (curre...

Re: Commander/EDH Deck Talk

Those generally come in the form of creatures, use tap and are limited. Durkwood Tracker Flayer of the Hatebound (Is warstorm surge, but limited to graveyard) Hateflayer (untap ability, so put predatory urge on it, has wither) Karplusan Yeti Living Inferno Magus of the Arena Master of the Wild Hunt ...

Re: Commander/EDH Deck Talk

Is there any artefact or enchantment version of Fling or Pit Fight? It seems like an obvious thing that would exists, and it's certainly something I'd like to use in a Commander deck if it does Are you looking for fights or one-sided fights? Re: Commander/EDH Deck Talk

Granted, I hate Spell crumple on commanders, mostly because I generally run Selesnya or Naya decks, but I acknowledge the validity of those plays.

I've played against several commanders where tucking was the only hope of anyone else winning.

Another one.

Clairvoyant is supposed to be able to look at an opponents hand as a tap ability, not sure if that should also cost mana (I guess). chassis is standard 1/1 also in blue.

Re: Custom cards - Playability assessment

Regarding Legend, Mark Rosewater has said that Absorb was too powerful to bring back, so I feel like Absorb 4 is REALLY overpowered. That I don't really get. Absorb is very powerful against damage based removal, but does nothing against anything else. And yeah, Legend is supposed to be very hard to...
