Re: Magic the Gathering: Ask a Judge

Indeed. Their line of text saying they are all creature types means that they are Spirits as well as Ninjas, Mutants, and Turtles.

What I meant was that you can effectively pay WW to draw two cards, not exactly something that mono-white can do. Perhaps if he cost UW.

Re: Design a Card

It's playable, but I'm not sure why you would choose any option except the second as a cheaper Divination. This also seems outside of White's color pie.

Re: Magic the Gathering: Ask a Judge

You're right, you get to decide the order in which blockers receive damage. From the Magic Comprehensive Rules: 509.2. Second, for each attacking creature that’s become blocked, the active player announces that creature’s damage assignment order, which consists of the creatures blocking it in an ord...

To be fair, some Limited formats have shuffle effects like Lay of the Land or Evolving Wilds, so the bottom of the deck isn't necessarily a complete blank.

It would all depend on what you would be boarding her in against. She's not great against aggro decks because of her mana cost. Against control, the "can't be countered" clause is nice, but generally they don't run as much permission as they do removal spells; this also diminishes the &quo...

No, it says all instants and sorceries have Storm.

I actually really want my card to be real.

Do multiple instances of Storm stack or is it redundant like Rebound?

If you draw one of your sideboarded FRF cards in the Khans vs Dragons match, and if it's a Siege, are you only allowed to pick the side with which you're supposed to be aligned?

At our store, I have successfully spread the use of "Batman" for Smoldering Efreet and "my friend, Will, of the Naga" for Will of the Naga. I believe he's mentioned in the flavor text of Friendly Fire.

Your land-count seems fine. I'd recommend more duals and more library manipulation. Some options if you're on a budget: ⋅  Guildgates ⋅  KTK Gain-lands ⋅  Evolving Wilds/Terramorphic Expanse ⋅  Zendikar Refuges ⋅  Mystic Monastery (Jeskai Tri-lan...

I really liked your discussion of Tiny Leaders. It's gotten to be a popular format at our local game store, and it's gotten my brewer's spark going. My latest build is also a "let's take all the good cantrips I own" deck I built after watching matches in the Vintage Super League: Grixis Do...

But we never found out how Kathleen's EDH game ended! Also, Nelson, dude, if you're running Abyssal Persecutor, you need to also run High Market. Always . High Market is a land, and its activated ability costs no mana; playing High Market and then saccing a creature to it can't be countered or inte...

Re: (Non-Official) Official Dragons of Tarkir Spoiler Thread

The problem seems to be that if you have a land that would add colored mana outside your commander's color identity, it produces colorless mana instead. Wouldn't those cards be basically uncastable if they were of the wrong color?

You could make the Conspiracy text clearer with reminder text with something like (This removes all other creature types.)

Yeah, having a critical mass of creatures is important (hence why Inkmoth Nexus is a 4-of; it can't be killed by sorcery-speed removal). If the Nexi aren't an option, how about Ichorclaw Myr? It has synergy with Rancor and is cheaper as a two-drop.

I don't disagree with the assessment of Boon as an expensive trick that can be telegraphed easily; I'm saying that it's better in Admiral Memo's deck than some of the more durdly cards in the main.

Re: Loading Ready Fan Draft.

I dont like Dragonscale boon, I think its a obvious trick that is easy to play around. That being said, when it works, its a blow out that wrecks your opponent. There is the fact that there isn't much better in the board to act as removal; I'd love to have a Murderous Cut or a Throttle instead, but...

OK, so I've gotten advice from various sources that I should've taken out Seek, Boon, Fruit, Growth, and Roar, and put in Krushok. What other 4 cards? Seriously... What am I missing here? I think it's a fine deck, but I wouldn't expect to 3-0 with it, for the following reasons: ⋅ It has basically no removal apart from a couple of combat tricks and the Debilitating Injury. If your opponent sticks one of the FRF rare dragons, you have alm...
