Re: Anybody know HTML

MDN is great for front-end stuff: JS, CSS, HTML, etc
Tizag is pretty good for back-end stuff: PHP, SQL, ASP
Not sure what info you needed on TCP/IP, so I can't really offer resources on it.

Re: Anybody know HTML

A lot of their information is incomplete, inaccurate, or misleading. I highly recommend using the Mozilla Developer Network instead. It has far more information, comes from a more credible source, and as a wiki is more updated than W3Schools. The only defense I can think of for using W3Schools is th...

NO. Do NOT use w3schools.com. EVER.

Check out http://w3fools.com/ for reasons why.

Re: The Hat Market Game

FugiTest was a new account last week, so had $1,000 net worth. In one week I went to $4 BILLION net worth. The only reason it wasn't higher was because I was lazy.

So I'm going to nerf it to make the maximum shorting to be some percentage of your networth.

Re: The Hat Market Game

I will have you know that FugiTest is a completely legit account. No database hacks were used.

Ergo, I am now winning. Suck it.

Ken's been back from Japan, but CraftBukkit has no 1.1 RB, and the server costs $90 while I have $0.

So yeah.

Re: The Hat Market Game

What gunner said.

The actual formula is as follows:

Code: Select all

total invested shares > -1000000000 / net worth

So if you have $1,000 the limit is 1,000,000 negative shares, and if you have $1,000,000 the limit is 1,000 negative shares.

Yes, you auto-rebuy them at $0. Shorting NPEW is pretty much fool-proof this week.

Re: Stop SOPA

I see a lot of people (on the internet in general, not here specifically) getting upset about MegaUpload and trying to use it to show SOPA is bad. However, the taking down of MegaUpload was the result of a two year investigation by the FBI. That has nothing to do with SOPA. At most you could claim t...

Re: The Hat Market Game

I've added "Shorting" as an investment option. Now you can sell stocks you don't own up to a limit defined by how much money you have. Shorted stocks are automatically bought back when the market reopens, so you CAN go bankrupt. Or, you can make a LOT of money. Enjoy! PS. Earlier today, I ...

Wikipedia's policies imply competence at the higher levels. If the admins are corrupt, such policies won't work, and you have to cause a disruption to make a point.

That is by design. If you could zoom the y-axis, the graphs would become misleading.

I have a guild that I've hung out with for as long as I've been on the internet that is currently playing Aion, so if it is free I'll surely start my account up again!

Stopped playing...a year ago? because I couldn't justify $15 for a few hours of gameplay each month. :(

Wikipedia, Reddit, Cheezburger network... All of they threatened to drop GoDaddy. Re: Stop SOPA

Nope. Buying a domain is a set fee up front ($9 for 1 year, $30 for 2 years etc), then you renew it once your time runs out. The minimum is a year, so if you get shut down after 1 month and have to register a new domain, GoDaddy just $20 for 13 months instead of $10 for 12. EDIT: Re-reading, I think...
